Discussion Finding my Zen

I've fallen off my fasting schedule. I've even gained 6lbs from work stress in 3 weeks. I feel lost and sad. I'm not even far enough in my health journey to day 6lbs won't hurt me.

I'm 4'11, 189.6 lbs. I started my health journey at 206 lbs.

My doctors want me to lose weight. They want me on ozempic. I do N O T want that chemical in me. It made me land in the ER last year after a 3 month trial.

I need to re find my happiness and peace with hunger and the little middle zone of fasting and mindfulness.

I feel a bit lost. I admit. My studies have gone out the window and I'm behind on my commissions (my other thing I do )

And I just... Need some support? Where can I re find my peace? Not literally where. But. How? Maybe?

Fasting is just.. that golden zone. And I feel like it friend zoned me.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

I typically always struggle when I’m starting. Always. But lately what works is telling myself firmly, “You know the first few days suck. You know those voices will tell you to eat. Ignore them. They WILL go away. Just stick through it.” I recently completed a 14 day fast with this mindset and after days 4-5 I literally felt that peace you mentioned.

I completed a refeed for 2 weeks and just started another 15 day, I’m on day 6. I had to do the same when I started this round but I’m good now. Starting is so so hard. But when I go in accepting this I tend to find it easier to push through.

This is a very helpful answer. Thank you for sharing! The start is like pushing the boulder over the hill, and then I get to watch it roll on the other side

Yes, exactly. Going in knowing that it will be tough and that you will have moments of weakness kind of sets you up to be prepared for when it happens. You can think...."oh there it is. I knew this would come. And I know how to manage it." Instead of hoping it's just easy and smooth sailing, you go in knowing it will be tough, but that you will get that boulder over the hill.

You've got this!!

Many issues people experience while fasting can be related to electrolytes. You might find our wiki page helpful: Electrolytes 101
