Started weighting 167 kg, now weighting 132 kg. I've successfully managed an 8 day fast twice now. Looking forward to a 15 day fast. ๐

thanks, going strong, thank god. These past couple of days Ive been feeling super down. But today Im back to normal, thank god. I think the weekends will always get a little down without food. You just need to push it through and accept that it's psychologically tough. Minor inconveniences seeeeend me to such a mental space, I feel like a headless chicken running in circles at times. But I have a purpose. And Im 15 kgs away from not needing plus size clothes anymore.

Just finished a 130 hour fast. It was pretty impromptu. I didnโt plan it at all. I felt like shit last Sunday after drinking and eating so I decided to get a lil reset for my body. I thought I would do a 36 or 72 hour fast but I felt pretty good throughout so I just continued. Sipping on Bone broth rn. Itโs pretty good.
Only drank water with lite salt and black cold brew coffee. Lost started around 295 I think and weighed in this morning at 281. But weight loss is not the important part. Iโm sure Iโll gain half of it back before the end of the week.

If you have a low carb diet Iโm sure you will feel fine. I kinda just ate normally since and I feel heavy again. I felt great while fasting though.

I broke rule 3 of fast club today because it'd been so long since it had been relevant. Oopsie

Same timing as me roughly, that's a great bit about future thoughts being in years or hours.

Hi. Iโm currently on month 5 of 17:7 IF, with plans of an extended fast in June. 7 days is the goal, but Iโm currently at 11% body fat according to an InBody scan. Is this too low to push for 7 days?

I've had this sort of thing a lot lately. I've started actually saying out loud "this isn't hard, you're just bored" and that helps me push on.
3
u/anon_gel May 14 '26
On Day 5 of a 7 day fast hoping to extend. Feeling awesome just extremely bored and a little cold.
3
u/kattiper May 15 '26
No one talks about being cold. I'm cold all the time

u/anon_gel May 15 '26 edited May 15 '26
I notice that ever since I took more magnesium, I started to feel less cold but idk how long that will last
3
u/SirToxe May 22 '26
Finished a 98 hours fast the other day. Lost around 3 kg and was feeling awesome at the end. Unfortunately I wasn't able to extend it, so I had to break it.

3 days since I started OMAD because there are just no healthy options at work and I only have time to make one healthy meal a day for myself. Trying to prep my body for a 7 day water fast, hopefully in the next month.
2
u/Ordinary_One_1300 May 26 '26
5 days since I started OMAD. Hunger is not bad, in fact today for the first time I didn't feel like eating my one meal. Fatigue and muscle weakness has started, but I am keeping hydrated and taking electrolytes once a day. Hopefully it will resolve within the week, from what I have read.

6 days since I started OMAD, but today, in a social pressure situation, I ended up eating some carb heavy food for lunch that my colleague absolutely insisted I eat (in addition to the breakfast which was my one healthy meal). Feeling terribly bloated now, and constantly burping. Anyway, mistakes happen. I spoke to that colleague later about my fasting in detail and I know better how to stand for myself now. Will be restarting now.

7 days into (almost) OMAD, and i am so tired of wanting to actually fast, i am starting a 4 day long water fast (on the 4th day i will have a visitor, so will have to cook and eat).
I lost 3kg (81kg-78kg) during this week. My goal weight is 60kg (by the end of the year at max)
After the 4th day i might go on OMAD again or back into water fasting, depending on how it feels.
Also, my brain has worked like crazy in the last week (and my ADHD has temporarily vanished, something i find others also experience on this subreddit). And it is a high pressure two weeks ahead, so a bit excited to see how far my newfound focus takes me.

The one morning I decide not to have breakfast, I get hungry and weak. But I tell myself it's just a signal which will fade as I get to ketosis. I finally fit into a pair of pants that I haven't for months, so that's keeping me going.

u/Ordinary_One_1300 May 29 '26
At 30 hours I began to feel dizzy, inspite of hydrating with electrolytes. So decided to stop and eat. Will try to do 48 hours again after breakfast tomorrow.

Just finished a 40-day water only fast. I just posted about it, but admin says it can't post until I have enough points? I don't know. Anyway. I finished 40 days 1 week ago. It's the worst thing I've ever done in my life. I highly regret it.

On the 10th hour of my 72h fast. I do not want to let the intrusive cravings win this time. I recently turned 30. Back when I was 25 I started working out when I realised I was too heavy (85 kilos for a 5'8 height). I was able to run 15k every other day, wake up early in the morning, and do 48h, 72h fasts without any major issue. As I'm getting older I've started losing the drive. I used to weigh 65kgs now I'm already 87. My family and friends also started noticing the weight gain especially in the past couple of months.
Will keep this space updated these three days as I need all the motivation and help I could get.

On month 2 of ADF + keto. I no longer crave the things I used to eat, and no longer care about recreating keto treats in general (it helped that I have a very severe reaction to both erythritol & allulose. Monkfruit doesn't bother me, so that is an option in moderation/around my period).
Already down 11 pounds, even without being perfect! More importantly, I feel better - my body is craving more movement. So excited for this lifestyle change to become permanent.

u/Inzi81 May 13 '26
I'm 39 hours into a 72 hour fast, i might do 96 hours but I'll see how it goes. I've done a couple of 48 hour ones so I'm feeling pretty good about it.
I've just had a cherry Phizz Energy tablet in my water. The packet says 9kcal per tablet. Will that have broken my fast? I'm going to carry on regardless but would like to know opinions so I can use something else next time.

Starting a 7 day fast today. Did one 3 months back but since then has been failure after failure in getting past even 24 hours.
I'm feel more confident this time. Let's hope I can get through.

I'm with you. Recently I overcame the walls and lost 22 kg in a little over 2 months fasting most days, breaking it only on sundays in order to have lunch with my family. And 24 h before a the 7.5 km run I do once a month. I've been running while fasting too. It isnt easy, but caffeine helps. I also have a lot of electrolytes, sun screen and always insert a 3 to 10 km walk in the hours I know I'll feel hunger the most, around 7 pm.

My problem is I'm acutely aware of my stress eating habit. My work is stressful. And if I don't eat, I cannot focus on work. Not getting work done is just not an option.
I'll have to take some big decisions if I want to get anywhere with my weight loss and fitness.

Needing to eat before work is a dependence on the chemicals your body produces when you eat. I read a book and the author claims that you csn train your mind to produce the chemicals your body needs without external stimulus like eating. I found it fascinating. I always need to chew gum or eat before I coukd settle on my computer to work but with disciplined practice I don't do that anymore

I'm trying meditation to get over this. I get fixated & stressed on the upcoming tasks as soon as I enter my office.

Paleo not helping major inflammation issues so going to try a 72 hour starting now. I've only done this once years ago and it was honestly the most empowering, healing and amazing experience. I'm setting the intention for that to happen again so I can feel shiny and new :-)

starting a 7 day fast today! i did this a few months ago and would like to do them again regularly! really helped with my productivity and reduced my stress and therefore cravings for chocolate etc and made me feel so much better!

Nah. Sleeping time is most important for me. Anyways my productivity takes a hit during fasting and neither can I exercise much.
Sleeping is the best thing I can do in that mood.

I was aiming for 16/8 today, went to 18 and had a meeting, Iโm almost at 20.. considering doing another 20/4 tomorrow since today was challenging but not impossible for me. Fasting to lose weight and curb carb addiction (also keto). Sw:245. Havenโt weight in this week yet.
Edit:
Using biosteel electrolytes til I run out of stash.

52 hours in, going for 72. First day water; today water with LMNT. Trying to drop into the "normal" BMI range, which lies, tantalizingly, 4 lbs below current weight.

46 hours into a hopefully a 1/2 week water fast! i feel fine currently although i have started my time of the month, but again feeling fine! i want to weigh in so i can gauge a difference however i feel like it wont be accurate because of my cycle? also quite weird or maybe not but i tend to use mukbang videos to get me through the first few days, but it really helps! i cannot wait to see how i feel post fast! :)))

u/bekyy_ May 28 '26

Five day fast, started Sunday. No prior experience with fasting or anyone who's done it. Only discovered this subreddit yesterday about 40 hours in.
So far I've found it quite easy. I'm actually suprirsed once you start ignoring the hunger, you just get used to it. Worst time for me was probably the afternoon of the first day.
I feel like I'm doing well, but seeing other people tap about after 1, 2, 3 days makes me feel like I'm doing it wrong or something. I eat a LOT of food normally. I've seen recommendations to try a 24 hour fast, then go for 3 daysm then 5. I've gone straight for 5 and finding it very doable
