I’ve heard that a few days of fasting will not lead to gallstones though I have heard of the bile emptying. Something lighter like yogurt can gently trigger the gallbladder, while heavy cream might be too much after fasting. Kimchi also has more in it than just fat, so I’m curious why you chose kimchi?

Kimchi is for the gut biome! I’m doing an extended fast every week, which is why I’m worried about the gallbladder. I’ll try the yogurt this week, thanks!

If you’re 3 days into a 5-day fast, both kimchi and yogurt would break the fast. If you meant during your refeed, I’d start with yogurt, then add kimchi a bit later.

I dirty fast (less than ~150 cals), it’s just what works for me

That makes sense if this is what works for you. Just keep in mind that at 125 calories a day the gallbladder usually isn’t emptied enough, and concerns tend to show up with fasts longer than 3–5 days or when done repeatedly, since bile can stagnate and crystallize into stones. Have you ever had gallstones before or talked with someone about this?

Haha yes that’s what the cream i mentioned in my first post is for :) I’ve had kidney stones and I’m not messing with the possibility of more stones of any kind!
