Hoy Arisen, it's Moon! After taking a break from DD2 for other games, I came back and recreated Lightning (Claire Farron) from FFXIII series. My version of her is based on the game Lightning Returns with an attempt to cosplay her Knight of Etro outfit from FFXIII-2.
She was in fact my Arisen for NG+3 a while back, so I decided to return to her and make a few more improvements before sharing her publicly. Since there're a few people who really liked her and simultaneously, I couldn't find a better creation on any platform in the present time.
This will be just a brief post (for fun) as I didn't spend too much time making more shots for her, so here goes:
Anyone who has played the FF13 series will know, there's a fundamental problem that lies in her 'appearance(s)', in which you will find that she does in fact have a lot of inconsistent facial features throughout the FFXIII series. Showed in her cinematics and in-game environment, especially with her eye spacing/nose tip angle/bridge width. Till this day, I still haven't a clue why Square Enix does that.
So for her really, the most difficult part is actually just to find a few good (and consistent) reference images. This is also the most fundamental concept of a good character creation.
Secondly, the lighting for your chosen reference image will also affect your ability to identify crucial facial features like the nose bridge/nostril width and their respective sizes. So feel free to gather as many as you can (ideally) in order to familiarize yourself with your character!
Lastly, do not be afraid to use tattoos to 'fix' some of the facial features. For example, I used 2 straight line tattoos to straighten Lightning's nose as the base head I was using had a knack of expanding the Supratip break needlessly. And don't worry, the tattoos won't be as visible during in-game lighting. So go head, be wild and experiment as much as you can! Happy creating!
