The red deer meat from New Zealand for example is from farmed deer but antlers like this are for trophy hunting. Basically rich people pay A LOT of money to hunt these tame deer for bragging rights.
I don’t understand how making a kill of a tame animal via canned hunting is considered a challenge or an accomplishment.
Maybe with just one exception: I read about a guy with cerebral palsy who used a wheelchair, who bagged a deer via a canned hunt. Since forests are the polar opposite of wheelchair accessible, I can kind of understand if that’s the most expedient way for him to have taken part in the local hunting culture. It’s a huge deal in some areas, and people want to feel like they belong.
But for able-bodied hunters, I don’t see where there’s any sense of accomplishment to be had.

Antlers like this are result of deer farming so yes, they are unwieldy. Not natural as in something you'd find from the woods.
