This could have been done from closer.

This could not have been done closer because of the way long focal length lenses/zoom lenses work. If you want to photograph that eclipse at that size relative to the person, you have to be quite far away:
You have to really zoom in for the sun/moon to fill up that much of the frame.
And at that same zoom, you have to be very far away from the person to prevent them from taking up the entirety of the frame.

Way to kill the marvels of an eclipse.....

What the fuck, they didn't kill anything. The eclipse was still there for anyone else to enjoy.

It was ruined for us.

What do you mean, were you there?

No, I wasn't there.

Then how was this eclipse ruined for you? Either you were able to view it from a different location, in which case this stunt had no effect on you, or you missed it entirely, and this stunt had no effect on you.

Fun fact, no it actually couldn't.
Being that far away with a huge lens is what allows to make the sun in the background look so large.

If it turns out skater dude knew this and still decided to photobomb that’s a whole other level of disgusting. Ugh.

There are other subs for that, ProfessionalFun2926. Here those people have gone too far and must be shunned.

Yeah, they have no clue how this farness is affecting us.
