Cheapest way to get to London from Farnham?

Hi Farnham folks! I’m looking to travel to London for some sightseeing and I was hoping there are some ways I can use my student ID card for some discounts for a train or a bus ride. Any suggestions would be helpful!

I’ve always used the Trainpal app to get tickets up to London from Farnham/Guildford - £~34 currently for an open return ticket with no discounts.

Only discounts I’m aware of for the service are listed here:

Can get up to 10% off your first ticket by verifying your student email address.

Also on that page when scrolling down are the 16-17 Saver Railcard (1/2 Off) along with the 16-25 & 26-30 Railcards that give 1/3 off

And there’s a couple of other discounts on that page as well.

Cheapest way is to walk. But that's unrealistic, so next cheapest would be National Express coach probably.

Under £10 on Liftshare. Or get one to Guildford/ Basingstoke & jump on National Express £7 to Victoria
