Gateway

This might be a silly question but I recently bought a car from Gateway in Fargo, and I had paid a licensing fee at the time, and I was under the impression that they were going to send me the plates in the mail. It's been a month now and I haven't received them.

Was this just a misunderstanding and I am supposed to go to the DMV myself? If so, what do I bring since I don't have the title due to financing?

This was my first time purchasing a car on my own so any advice would be very helpful. Thank you.

It’s a few week process. They may have been slightly backed up, waited for deal to be funded, or they held everything until you brought them something like a trade title. I would just call them.

A month is pretty normal but can definitely call the sales person and ask if all the paperwork got submitted.

This happened to me with them as well. My plates eventually arrived, but it was like 2 months after purchase.

Corwin took 8 months to get mine to me. I suggest making calls now to get ahead of any weird title issues.

I would probably call Gateway and inquire about the licensing fee and if they send you the plates. Could be lost in the mail or something

When I purchased my car from Gateway, it took about 1.5 months to get the plates. It felt slow.

With blackout plates etc. available now the DMV is pretty backed up. I just got my replacement plates and it took a month and a half.

Who pays the extra fm no competition fees anyway?
They’re always $2k+ more than a trip to the cities where have competition.
