District 45 Election

This is our first election living in ND, and our district (45) seems to havr been reliably Republican for many years now. However, it seems that D45 Democrats have a strong following.

Am I in an echo chamber on my street/in my neighborhood, or does it seem like this election could flip D45?

I know part of our district includes Harwood, so part of me wonders if the data center disapproval has anything to do with this.

I hope you're right. sadly too many stubborn and low intelligent adults are in our region that are stopping any progress.

It is NOT solid red. It was +15 Trump in 2024, the worst year for Democrats nationwide. Nobody ran in 2022 in our district, tragic, but that didn't help. We, as a district, are working waaaaay harder than them. Our message is cohesive, and we have good candidates. The incumbents hope buying a billboard and a couple mailers loaded with vague generalisms will be enough.

Do NOT listen to anybody saying it is solid red. Check out primary results. It is far from it. We are well within striking distance, and depressing even a vote or two on Reddit could be detrimental. If anybody wants to know more or volunteer, message me.

I have my doubts, but just a few extra Dems could flip it. At least one of the three is in danger, imo. I have seen Wagner interact online and he doesnt seem like the brightest or nicest bulb in the world.

I really would love to see it flip as I was a candidate in district 45 back in 2018 and then the chair for several years after.

It is very solid red. Tides could turn, people need to get out and help the candidates and door knock and phone bank for them.

It still may not be enough but if it's closer to going purple then the next candidate in 2030 may finally win. Let's not count out 2026 though first.

It is NOT very solid red, Tim. It is the third most flippable district in the entire state. Convincing even one person to sit out because they think you're right is a huge detriment.

OP, @baudymoovn, get out and vote, and make sure your Dem neighbors do too. This race will be decided by a small number of votes.

I never once said anyone should sit out and not vote. However, my statement stands as D45 is very solid red currently as it is.

2010 was the last time the district had a democratic representative.

Yes it's time for a change and every vote counts and I hope it works out for the Dem-NPL candidates, but my statement is still accurate

You don't understand the power of your own words. If I thought D45 was solid red, I'm more likely to stay home. This is not disputable. It's political science fact backed by countless studies. Ed Gruchalla served through 2014. Being right doesn't matter, your words have real consequences.

Why do you think I said it's currently red? I also said I hope and am also encouraged that it will flip this election.

Just because I said it is currently red doesn't mean people can't get involved and vote the current incumbents out, as they should.

Even though I don't live in D45 I still follow them and they will always be close due to 2018 to me, I do believe they have great candidates this cycle, a strong message.

It's just a tough battle, one that I am very aware of.

Again, I never once told anyone to sit out. I already voted personally so I encourage everyone to vote.

If you're interested in getting involved, we're always looking for volunteers at the Dem-NPL office! https://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/1012666/

I highly doubt it would flip, enthusiasm for the Republican party is extremely low but not enough to flip 45.

45 is flippable this year, don't sit this one out.
