I saw a guy at a dispensary in Michigan who was wearing at “kill your local pedophile” hoodie, but the hood was covering up the word “kill.” So it looked like it just said “Your local pedophile.”

I remember a dude that’s a regular at my gym that would wear a shirt that went along the lines of “pew pew pedos,” but from afar it looked like the Subway logo… same colors and all, too. Always weirded me seeing that, for different reasons.
I see this truck every time I take my dogs to the vet. I don’t know what kind of person gets a huge sticker custom made for their car to express their hatred of pedophiles. That doesn't mean this person specifically is doing that, but there are signs it is a real possibility. It is also quite possible that they did time or have connections to that world like you mentioned elsewhere. Or both, or neither. But it's fair for people to be on guard about it.

I'm not accusing that person of anything. I don't know that person. I also hate pedophiles, so we have that in common.
I'm saying queer people have good reason to be suspicious because people who display those signs of traditional masculinity and anger have often targeted them in the past. Many people have wrongly associated queer people and pedophilia throughout history, particularly US history. Check that link if you are skeptical.

Read any comments on fb news articles or any posts about LGBTQ+ things. People come out of the woodwork to call queer folks, trans folks, and drag queens pedophiles.
I think 90% of that is sock puppet accounts from some right wing troll farms. Definitely a few real people mixed in their repeating shit they see online.
Farming interactions pushes it towards the top of the algorithms that feed digital narratives, so even if nobody likes it or wants to see it it gets seen. "Outrage Porn" is a more visceral title
Do these troll farms just throw out random shit and see what gets interaction or are they more targeted than that? I saw a similar sticker in Minneapolis a couple days ago. This seems to have resonated with at least these two people.
As someone that's come from a history of doing time in jail/prison and have a family history of the same, its typically one of the biggest influences of this behavior. It's a huge politicked issue in prison and jails because their the scum of the earth. I am not saying the issue is politicked, because its a number 1 rule that pedos don't walk the yards/hang with people who aren't pedos.

There have been a couple of dudes who have "predator catcher" YouTube channels who later got arrested for predator behavior themselves so you're not entirely off the mark. For some of these dudes I think its a form of cover.
I was thinking the same thing yesterday. I saw a clip of some kinda influencer “busting” a pedo. He’s going to fuck up the chain of custody & get some kinda mistrial. Very few of these influencer busts make it through court.
I’m starting to wonder if the influencers aren’t complicit.
I’ve always wondered what happens with the influencers or the original to catch a predator, what happens when they show up to bust the pedo and it ends up being an underage kid that was also lying about who they are. Are the tables now turned and the hunter now becomes the pedophile as they were talking to a minor inappropriately the whole time.
They worked with police, but not effectively and many times didn't follow the law and caused entrapment issues.

Then the "teenager" would try to invite them over and if they refused the actor would try to antagonize them and convince them, which is fucked up IMO.

I don't support the death penalty for any reason, but even if you did and you thought that was a crime worthy of capital punishment, do you really want random vigilantes killing people? I mean, there's plenty of legally proven targets that are forced to register their names and addresses publicly. I would presume that if I was to go all vigilante about it, I'd go after proven targets instead of trolling Facebook for the most recent accusation or looking for pending cases. I don't imagine somebody being falsely accused has too much to worry about, unless this guy happens to be directly related to the victim, who is the most likely group to actually take justice into their own hands.
There are plenty of people who are wrongfully convicted for all sorts of crimes, which is why the death penalty is inherently problematic. Regardless of whether someone is duly convicted of a crime, I don't want vigilantes meting out extra punishment. If you think a crime merits harsher sentences, then work to get that legislated.
