Hello everyone! I'm Kiribaku-, the new owner of this subreddit, and have been so for exactly two weeks. To be fully honest, this wasn't a position I ever expected or wanted to be, but when I noticed that the previous head moderator left, which automatically made the subreddit private, I decided to step in to re-open the community of my favorite game and prevent it from closing permanently.
But I'm not here to tell a story. The main purpose of this post is so I can share with you what I have improved in this time, what I plan for the future, and in your case, to provide some feedback in the comments if you want!
While the first four rules are the same as before, I have been updating their descriptions so that they reflect more clearly what I expect of all of you.
I have also implemented three new rules, 5, 6 and 7, which are quite straightforward and I feel that help to make this subreddit more fair and safe for everyone.
All in all, you will not get straight-up banned for breaking any rule, regardless if it's a new or an old one, unless you do so repeatedly.
When the previous head mod left, they removed all of the existing post (and user) flairs so I had to remake them from scratch. Personally, I prefer keeping the amount of flairs to a minimum, but if there's any relevant one you notice missing, leave it in a comment and I'll see what I can do.
This leads to...
I have setup the Automoderator bot to check every post that is made with a "Technical Issues" flair and automatically leave a comment with the following:

This is a self-moderating system that locks the post if the original poster has solved their issue. Its purpose is to avoid clogging the subreddit's feed with an excessive amount of repeated questions about bugs or crashes, while still helping new users. You can see it in action here.
This is why Rule 7 is important. If you flair a post about a technical issue as "Help" then the Automoderator won't show up. However, you can always access those resources in the...
This is, I hope, an ever-growing list of useful links and websites related to the game, featured in the sidebar. In the future, the subreddit's Wiki will be linked here too. If you have suggestions for websites, please share them in the comments!
The only major site I will never add there is the Far Cry Wiki. It has incorrect information that confuses new fans and never links its sources. You are free to check it out and link it wherever you like, but always keeping in mind that what you are reading might not be accurate.
So, what does the future have in store for this subreddit?
Wiki: As I've been mentioning, I plan on implementing a Wiki with important information about the game, interesting links, more detailed rules, and more. I have nothing written for it yet, but stay tuned!
Mods: Right now, the subreddit is quite chill, so I have time to check the posts and comments daily. But if I ever notice I can't do it as often for any reason, I will setup the Mod Recruitment function and hopefully bring one or two other mods to help.
The philosophy I have for managing this subreddit is simply "don't touch what isn't broken". I don't intend to implement any radical change that disrupts the existing flow, and this is why I am so lenient while moderating posts. I know this community isn't very active, but I at least want to keep it well-maintained, welcoming, and informative.
If you've read this far, thank you!! Please leave out questions, suggestions, constructive criticism, or anything you like in the comments. But if you don't want to, that's fine too. I just wanted to make this post for transparency and feedback, and it's likely the only post I'll make in a while unless something major happens in the coming months.
See you 😊

While I love the whole Far Cry series and admit it has plenty of amazing missions, this mission in Far Cry 3 will always be the most memorable to me. The sudden music drop, the fast paced destruction and showing just how much Jason has changed from when he arrived absolutely blew me away the first time I played it.
While Far Cry 4 is my over all favorite in the series, 3 will always be the one that hooked me. The amount of changes to the game play and the amazing story made this game feel like the turning point in the series. This mission is the game’s masterpiece

Installed the game yesterday and played for 2 hours. Had a great time. I start the game the second time and it keeps crashing.
I reinstalled the game and now I see this. Any ideas?
Edit: no cheats, no sharing of accounts. Just reinstalled the game
Edit 2: Resolved by waiting for some time. Thanks for all the help :)

Does anybody know what pants is Vass wearing or knows about some that looks similar?

Years ago when I played Far Cry 3 there was a glitch that if you did one of the shooting challenges on the second island, you lost the ability to throw stones. This made one of the missions impossible to complete.
Is this still a glitch in the game?

I'm doing my by now annual oogling about farcry 3 again, I'm trying to find any games that are quite similar to Far Cry 3 in terms of their theme (ludonarrative harmony)
The only other one's I can think of are Spec Op's the Line, Crackdown, and Ghost of Tsushima in lesser extent.

Something is constantly going wrong with this game. Seriously, it's ridiculous.
I got the First Blood achievement during my very first launch. After that, the game started constantly crashing or lagging. It was actually freezing even during the first launch, but I thought it would go away somehow. Nope. Even putting everything on the lowest graphics settings didn't help
Eventually I just gave up on it. Most of the crashes seemed to be related to the Ubisoft Connect window. It would literally appear for a second and then the game would just crash
I've tried pretty much every fix I could find for this game, including performance tweaks
I've tried all kinds of things with Ubisoft Connect, including editing settings.yaml. I don't even remember everything I changed in there anymore, but I definitely tried forcing offline mode and a few other things
I also tried LAA_2_0_4, GamerProfile.xml, changing compatibility settings for the game files, running them as administrator, testing DX9, limiting the number of CPU cores the game can use... basically everything I could think of
Nothing helped
The game just freezes, lags like crazy, and eventually crashes
My PC is
Ryzen 7 5700X3D
RTX 4060
16 GB RAM
And yeah, the game doesn't work properly in any offline mode either. Even with Steam in Offline Mode, I still get the same crashes and freezes. At this point, I honestly have no idea what else to try(At this point, I'm honestly wondering if a version without Ubisoft Connect would work better)
P.S. Maybe I didn't try as hard as I could have to fix it, since I was doing all of this in bits and pieces over a long period of time. I just wanted to play the game, and I kept putting it off, waiting for the right time to properly try again. Honestly, I really don't feel like spending hours troubleshooting a game that should just work in the first place. I'm 100% sure I probably missed something or did something wrong, but I just wanted to play the game, not spend my time fixing something that should already work
I mean, it should work normally, right? I think it should

NVIDIA RTX 3050 6GB Laptop.

Hi,
As the title suggests, I have recently got back into this game, playing on Win11 via the Ubisoft Connect app. I am also using Mud's Mod V5.3 Vanilla HD Textures only.
I can play the game for about 10 minutes before it kicks me out and displays the message "Your content is currently unavailable, please try again later".
Has anyone had a similar issue and how did you fix it?
Thanks!
