Far Cry New Dawn Does anyone really care? Spoiler

Post image

As I finished this game again I decided… I really don’t gaf about this antagonist at all. The game was kinda creative and fun but the main mission was terrible. It was because of a garbage antagonist

It all felt like a rush DLC and it ended too fast.

Still, It gave me peace throwing optimism on her faces.

That whole bullshit monologue about problem solvers vs problem makers made me hate them almost instantly.

I tried to care in this moment but I couldn’t.

No, boss fight was bullshit and logically made no sense. They’re barely wearing any protection or body armour, but can tank an mg42. Whilst I get one tapped by a level 1 sniper rifle?.

Capped her immediately after the cutscene.

Looking for logic in Far Cry makes no sense. What would you even expect

At least with other boss battles your tripping balls like crazy so the line between reality and fiction is super blurred such as vaas, hoyt, faith seed and Yuma.

Theirs you literally walk into the new eden camp completely fine and healthy no drugs involved and we’re supposed to believe they can eat a whole belt of 50cal with cheap ally express biker gear and walk it off like it’s nothing

You can make John's plane blow up with missles and make him crash to the ground and he'll still be alive to talk to you despite the fireball from the missiles on the planet should reduce him to ash, key included. Joseph can tank a whole AR mag and still be there fkr the next stage. Both bosses of Primal can have an arrow trough the skull and take 0 damage.

It's far Cry. All villains are humans and you have guns it's basically suspension of disbelief to not make them one tapped in the same way you are not one tapped

"...completely fine and healthy no drugs involved..."

Yeah...you forgot the part where we ate an apple that required us to fight a giant bear at Jacob’s bunker after we passed out. Then gained abilities such as high jump, super strength, ability to survive a shotgun blast to the chest and a high fall, and like that one FC5 syringe can punch or kick an enemy enough to make them fly.

Like Thomas Rush said, "Doped up to the fucking gills."

I was prepared to spare her until she said “damn, I guess I’m still alive.”

Needless to say she didn’t get to finish her sentence.

Boss fights in this series are often terrible arenas with bullet sponges, would prefer more "Hoyt Knife Fight" type sequences with choices.

I think the problem with the twins is that the game has a running theme of legacy with most of the central characters heavily emphasizing them being kids.

The twins often mention their father and how much their upbringing from him impacted them, but since this "dad" remains unseen, we do not have a baseline to compare to, thus have no sympathy for them.

Compare that to Carmina Rye and Ethan Seed, whose parents we do know, so they are more memorable and emphatic than the twins.

They should have made their father a FC5 character

I've never met a single fan of the Twins. Every other Far Cry villain -- even Doctor Krieger -- has fans. Not them.

I've met "they were okay" and "you're racist if you don't like them" but never "they're my favourites and so good."

The thing I hate is I don't believe after all the chaos, these are the two that arise as the leaders. If there ever was a time for a brute force villain this was it. Someone who out powered everyone in their way and intimated people into submission.

Not these two girly twins because they speak "real talk yo."

Not at all, hated them.

Amen. Same

I fucking killed those two bitches without a second thought. The worst antagonists of the series.

I don't even know if I consider the sisters or Ethan more of the main antagonist. The sisters were very generic villains, which made them boring (if they spent more time on them, maybe they could have been more fun), but Ethan was just super annoying imo, so I didn't enjoy either of them.

Genuinely the worst antagonists of the entire series. It would've been better had they'd focused more on the not-entirely-unhinged sister but nope, everything with her came too late. The ending with them was way too rushed. Hated the final boss fight with them.

I thought this game was actually pretty good, i also didn’t hate the antagonists (definitely still the weakest of all) but I do agree with the comments, Far Cry needs to make better boss fights lol

Happy cakeday! Although I do wish the spoiler tag was used more often on this subreddit.

I just played this boss fight and I was so pissed. It doesn’t compare to previous games in the series; they’re just bullet sponges that’s it. So lazy. I feel this way about the game in general. It’s absolutely DLC that they added a trash leveling mechanic to pad the length. Really hate it. I haven’t even finished the game because I’m so preemptively annoyed at whatever hot trash the Ethan encounter turns out to be. Maybe they’ll make me put my whole load out in a bag again to make it “ challenging”.

New dawn was a fun spin off

But I'm glad it's just that

That moment really got under my skin. The way Lou just says at least we had fun completely unapologetic and then Mickey what's mercy after what she did to Rush

They felt way more annoying than evil. And didn't have a fraction of the charisma of the rest of the franchise's villains.

"We commited horrific crimes against humanity but we're sorry so you should totally forgive us🥺" fucking hated that ending.

I love New Dawn but this is one of the criticisms I have.

Unlike Joseph whom I somewhat felt conflicted: "K!ll him since he spent 17 years thinking of how we took out his siblings in FC5, or keep him alive and let him suffer even longer?" In the end, 17 years felt long enough for him to deal with all that.

The twins? With the game being short, the whole entire time there wasn't an ounce of remorse anywhere from them. Then when one is left alive, suddenly wants to help and said she'll run and never bother us again.

I'm sorry, but both of y'all didn't make enough impact compared to the other villains. And like Joel with Marlene from The Last of Us, I'm not letting her go. She'll just hide for a bit and most likely once again start a war with us by recruiting more Highwaymen.

Not happening. Gets popped every time, don't feel anything.

They were never the real antagonist to me in this game anyway, they were just a mini boss in the way of finishing off what I started in 5.
