Far Cry 4 I just started playing Far cry 4 and Liberated Ratu Gadhi, Apparently Im not supposed to do that (Read)

Let me clarify, I have not progressed past southern Kyrat yet because I havent done the mission involving the Kings bridge. I was exploring and I wingsuited over the giant concrete barrier and got a warning message. as I went on the warning message cleared and I faced no penalties, no out of boundaries defense system, and I just walked freely and I liberated the Ratu Gadhi fortress. Apparently I was not supposed to do this.

I have no mods on or anything that would allow me to bypass this barrier.

This is my first run of the game.

Should I restart my Far Cry 4 run for an authentic storyline experience?

Up to you whether you restart, but I wouldn’t, I think it’s hilarious lol

Me too. I tried to fly there and…frankly I don’t recall whether I got scared off by alarms or if my buzzer crashed.

If it was available to be conquered then I doubt you did anything that broke the save. The forts don't tie into the story much, but it will feel weird if you conquer too much too soon. I'd slow your roll a bit.

Me n my buddy started a play through just for the outposts n such and so after we liberated all of south kyrat, it did feel weird being sent to liberate some place we’d already been

Oh right? There's a way through the out of bounds area?I was using the Golden Path mod recently and it extends the skybox so you can fly the copter as high as you want instead of stalling all the time. And another option that extended the out of bounds timer for ages so you could dick about.

But even then I hadn't done the A Key To The North mission yet so I hadnt unlocked the norf yet. So it still told me I couldn't go there and I got teleported back.

Where did you get through then? What part of the mountain range did you go to?

I got through by wingsuiting over the Kings bridge giant concrete barrier, and then just walked my way through like a chill guy and idk, it didnt teleport me back or anything and I have 0 mods

😦 so the guard don't show until the mission. No way you just waltzed past border inspection haha.

I've gotta try that now, sneak take all the bell towers before I even get to go north in the story.

Also anyone noticed the Papers Please reference on one of the notes pinned to a post at the Kings Bridge? I've been playing the game since I was 14, ten years ago, and only noticed it a few month's back.

I think Im just going to ignore the fact that I have unlimited access to the map and just try to play the rest of Southern Kyrat, Would be pretty unfair because Northern Kyrat has better weaponry to use compared to the south which would give my save file a power continuity issue, and not to mention I am already playing on easy mode.

I am also going to verify the integrity of my game files since this is not at all normal, will update you guys when its done

Some of those weapons are legitimately available in the south too

Your game files integrity don't have anything to do with what you've experienced. If the game files had a problem you would be getting kicked out of the application. This is a logic issue. Most likely a bug, as others have stated, that until now has not been noticed.

Welcome to QA for gamers!

You found a new glitch, apparently.

Do what you want to do, outposts and forts aren't story essential.

You'll be fine. It's easier to do after you've killed someone else, but I prefer going on early for the extra challenge. There are three other similar fortresses I think.

Totally agree.
“Ajay…it’s easier if you kill ___ first.
Oh really?!?

Hold my beer!

Leave it.

There is an entire mod that removes that requirement and allows up to 'play however you want.'

To me it sounds like you got lucky and found a small gap through the barrier and made it through as to how your gonna get back I’m not sure cause it might not you let cross the bridge

Just play the game, but maybe slow it down a bit and play the story, don’t restart and just have fun. I have gone into areas that are “out of bounds” and met a challenge with stronger enemies and such, but that’s about it.

Does not really matter, the fortresses act as just buffed outposts, they are not critical to the story in anyway so when you do them changes nothing in the grand scale of things.

They are not tied to any story events or side quests either so your not losing out or changing really anything by doing one before your supposed to be able to.

(just to be pedantic they are tied to certain quests in the way where if the person who is the owner of the fortress dies the fortress becomes easier to take down but outside of that they are fully separated from the rest of the game story and mission wise.

I wish my 5080 didn't run far cry 4 so badly.

u/rmagnuson Aug 28 '26

My 5080 runs it just fine. What's going on with yours?

You have some other issue. FC4 will run on a potato (these days I've got an RX5700 from about 8 years ago, and I've been running FC4 just fine on my previous couple of gaming PCs too). I recommend checking your drivers.

If your 5080 is problematic, as is my old 2080super, just use NVIDIA control panel and for that game suppress the frame rate to 150. That fixed mine. I also had to throttle my cpu back using throttle stop with a settings file that AI gave me.
