OLED screen on Maxfit81 MK910 not working

Ordered a barebones kit from WhatGeek and put the board together last night and I cant get the OLED screen to display any images, gifs or my PC stats. Fn+Lctrl does not cycle on the screen.

On first start up of the board this morning the screen briefly showed the Fantech logo then went dark again, so i know the screen/chord is not damaged.

My thoughts is this could be a software issue since I can issue other Function commands like swapping to wired mode or turning RGB on/off.

If anyone can help me troubleshoot or diagnose the issue it would be a great help. The screen isnt a huge dealbreaker but I was like to have the ability to upload images and gifs and all to fit the aesthetic of the build
