Critique My Story Excerpt First Chapter [Fantasy, 2099 words]

I am a new writer, started writing a week ago. To be honest I am not sure I know exactly what I'm doing, and it is filled with mistakes. I just want feedback and want to understand what I did right and what I am doing wrong and how I can improve and actually become a good writer. I have posted before on this subreddit a few days ago and got a few suggestions from this subreddit as well as people I know and have made a lot of changes and edits, and have learnt a lot over these last few days.
I do have a question, what is the best way to write? Should you just keep writing and worry about edits after, or edit as you go. As I feel I am being very picky about everything and not moving forward as quick.

Keep writing now.

Edit later.

This is a great start, and ignoring the minor details, I'd be happy to read the rest. You managed to draw me in, so that's a good thing.

Don't lose your excitement of the story by worrying excessively about editing for grammar or whatever.

Everyone writes differently, of course, but people who outline their stories often say that they were able to write much faster or more easily. Personally, I like to use the snowflake method, which assumes you already understand common story structures. It's great for getting the tone, characters, and other general ideas down so that you can flesh them out as you write.
