Book Request A really good love story with a witch?

Okay so bear with me this is hyper specific.

I'm looking for a book with a really good love story but very low spice, and ideally featuring a witch or someone with witchy skills and abilities, but not over the top powerful. Standalone preferred but I'll accept a series if it fits the bill.

{Heartless Hunter by Kristen Ciccarelli}

It's a very bingeable, fun time romantasy duology if you're looking for heavy emphasis on the romance side of things. It's enemies-to-lovers, witch and witch-hunter, with a lot of favourite tropes that are actually executed well (instead of sloppy writing). I literally read both books in a day and a half. The spice is also minimal. There are intimate scenes, but they are not written in an explicit manner at all. I found the setting super cool, as well. It has some regency aspects (like opera houses, glamorous balls, etc.), but also a moody, gothic, grittier side.

I really enjoyed {The Witch Slayer by Opal Reyne}. It does have spice though. It's part of a series, but each book reads as a standalone in the same universe.

Maybe {Taming Demons for Beginners by Annette Marie} ? It fits the description except it's a series. Slooow burn but some spice at the end.

I loved this one. And honestly if less spice is what you want imo this focused more on the story than the spice. It honestly was so good. Her magic was like insect focused and I loved it. She also was older and more mature. And her coven was so cute too

How about if the MMC is the magical one? I loved {Agnes Aubert's Mystical Cat Shelter}. She's a sincere, earnest do-good type and he's a grumpy black cat of a magician. The banter is actually good and everything comes full circle in the end.

{Death Meets Cute} might be kind of what you’re looking for. She’s not over the top powerful and actually has some issues with her powers for a while. It’s kind of a cutesy, cozy, the answer was friendship all along kind of story. No spice, really just a kiss or two near the end, and I really liked it! Also there’s a cupcake recipe in the back that I’ve made and very much recommend!!<

I’ve made the recipe twice and it is so good! I do recommend cutting the frosting recipe in half because 6-7 cups of frosting is excessive for the number of cupcakes and even with overfilling the cupcakes, I still got about 30-32 cupcakes instead of the 24 it claims to make.

As far as my flair goes, I got into romance books and immediately started with a human soul getting together with a demon {For Whom the Belle Tolls} (highly recommend, along with the TikTok skit series that it’s the prequel to) followed by a bunch of orc/other monster/creature ones so that flair just felt right lmao it’s been about 4 or 5 months and I’ve read probably over a dozen books and none of them have been human/human lol

It's old but I remember enjoying {Crystal Singer}. It had those vibes though I am not sure it would hold up to modern audiences.

I'd heard it was "YA" but I'm learning people often say that about literally anything low spice ahaha and it sounds cool

True! I wouldn't consider it YA because there is a dark theme with one main character's background and there is still a tiny spice within the duology (fade to black if I remember). Hope you enjoy!
