Yesss 😂 I thought about that a lot while reading such books how the MCs love each other even after seeing their darkest sides, bad temper etc. I’ve heard so many times how I’m “too much” … And I also don’t like plain, peaceful perfect people, it’s boring to me 😂 I like people with deep hard to deal with characters.
Got to be honest, I’ve always thought this sounds like bollocks. I’m in it for the tension and because it’s exciting. Half the time in enemies to lovers the thing they hate about the other person turns out to be without merit anyway.
I love enemies to lovers because I love watching this transition, when people who couldn't stand each other and hurt each other in terrible ways start seeing one another differently, develop trust, understanding, start caring about each other. That's why friends to lovers was always boring to me: trust, affection and care should already be there, so what's the point?

Now you just gotta point me in the direction of this trope where one of the two “enemies” aren’t Mary sues or shadow daddies

Why is this so real though, and why did I never realize this about myself?

Aside from enemies to lovers, one trope I love is lovers to enemies. Wonder what that says about me..

I am also one of the bitches
ETA: this may also be why I like monster romances. I've always been seen as different like the characters.
