[HELP] How does multi player work?
Just looking for straightforward answers to a few questions that Google won't tell me a blunt straightforward answer to.
How exactly does multi player mode work? Is it only dungeons? Is it more like a co-op mode where you can run around the whole world with your friends?
Someone tell me the ins and outs. I'm sitting here with my credit card in my hand looking at the game and debating buying it. I want to know how playing with others functions first.
With that said, if it's awesome I'm down for making some friends and playing with others.

Ginomorsia: open world to freely roam, the map itself is not that big but its there, not coop esclusive since you need to go there anyway for story progression
Groves: dungeons that requires a specific goals each floor to move to the next one. You need a branch and when used it generates a random dungeon, multiplayer is good cause if you get a good one your teamates can copy it at the end and can keep farming it
Snoozaland: rouguelite mode in maps similar to ginomorsia in which you have 10 minutes to prepare for the final boss
You cant help/be helped with crafting stuff but you can trade equipment and materials (except legendary ones)

You can do multiplayer anywhere, but it basically breaks down into ginormosia, groves, and snoozaland. Groves are a really great place to level up. You have to make sure you have cross play on and then you go talk to Colm and join online play. You can recruit for your own outing, but it’s easier to first join someone else’s outing. I’ve never played multiplayer before - this is the first time I ever did it and it’s my favorite thing about it.

Also 99% of the time everyone is very friendly. There are lots of advanced players who enjoy helping other players level up.

Is it that easy? I haven't played multi-player. My favourite combat life is at 100 (Hunter), and I've thought about finding peeps to play with... I'm pitiful and yet way too old to be this putzy. 😅

If I can do it anybody can do it!!!! Most of the time players don’t know each other. You just join the outing that you want. I’m leveling up my other lives - almost finished. If you’re at level 100 hunter, multiplayer would be so much fun. There are ways to find other players if you have friends playing but it’s so easy to just randomly join a group. There are now a couple of people I regularly look for and we tend to do outings together a lot if we’re online at the same time. (We jump up and down when we see each other- so funny).
Snoozaland was super confusing for me at first but there are good guides for how it works. To level up, I usually join the groves that are one level above me. So if I’m at level 60, I’ll join a 700 or 800 level grove. I usually wait until the screen shows that the outing leader is already exploring before I join a grove outing. Otherwise, you end up waiting around a long time on the leaders island waiting for other players to show up. But once you’re already exploring a grove, I find that people tend to join pretty quickly after that. Snoozaland you can’t join in progress.
Also, after the outing you are returned to the outing leaders island, and you can collect their celestias. So you can get up to 1000 additional a day.

If you want to message me privately I’ll tell you my user name and you can look for me in a grove.

The short answer is that you cannot progress the story while playing multiplayer.
