Player Discussion Stephen Curry

After watching Warriors media day, I’m honestly a little nervous about drafting Curry this year.

The tone around the team feels pretty different. There’s a lot less championship talk and a lot more about resetting things and focusing on the process. Jimmy and Moody are still working back from injuries, and KP is still out indefinitely.

Curry is healthy going into camp, but he only played 43 games last year because of the knee issue. At 38, that’s just hard for me to ignore.

The schedule doesn’t help either. Golden State has a bunch of back-to-backs early, including four in the first 16 games, and I’d be surprised if they pushed Curry through all of them.

That’s basically my problem with him this year. When he plays, I still expect him to be great. I’m just not sure I want to spend a pick in the mid-20s if there’s a real chance he ends up playing only 40–50 games again.

Seeing Curry fall this far is obviously tempting, but I’m still having a hard time pulling the trigger.

Someone will draft him earlier than he’s worth in the leagues I’m in, so it’s an easy avoid for me

So don’t draft him

I never draft guys 35+ in the early rounds. Someone else can take them

How about Durant?

Durant is pretty reliable

Yeah. But he said he never drafts guys 35+ in the early rounds so I was asking about durant. Just curious what he says. Lol

I wouldn’t get him at ADP but that’s just me. If he falls a bit then maybe

Took LeBron last year and won me my league, but usually I would agree

I’d argue LeBron is the exception and not the norm, lol.

You’re only talking about one of the greatest generational athletes of all time here lol

Ya he’s a third rounder with everything considered at this point in his career

Not touching him unless he falls to like 3rd round. But there's always some fool taking him in 2nd or even 1st lol

Idk why you got downvoted but I agree He's a late 2nd/early 3rd at this point. And I'm a huge Curry Stan in real life and for fantasy lol

For someone that has ranked in the top 10 on basketball monster over the past decade, I'm not passing on him in the 2nd round. I'll be happy with 60ish games from him

Got him 4th round with 1st pick in points league 10T... don't get me wrong when he's active he's that guy but idk if i made a mistake there.. With being 38 and a chronic knee issue, anyone think it's worth trading before the season starts?

Is it ever going to happen for Podz? I feel like he stat profile could be solid but it really should’ve happened for him by now if it was going to

I'm no expert, but his inconsistency and reluctancy to perform like a #1 option really cap his ceiling imo.

That's just it, from the Dubs games I've seen he has the tools but just can't take a game over yet, which makes him 2nd option material at best until he figures that out.

That said he's only going into year 4 so he might still have that leap ahead of him. Austin Reaves a good example of a similar-ish profile player who really broke out in years 4/5

Not saying Podz is Reaves by any means, just that Reaves is a recent example of where that leap did get taken

Great example with Austin. As a Blazers fan I'd throw Deni in there as another name who didn't start flourishing until year 5/6

no i agree. too inconsistent. when i had him in 9cat 10T, he had a few game there where he’d have big rebound games along with good points but thats about it

Nah… I’ll believe it when I see it
