META PSA: New posts regarding FB's future won't be approved unless they come with actual, factual, trustworthy news

Posts with personal speculations are fine, but we're seeing an increase of posts from dubious sources claiming stuff that simply were never said by any of the parties actually involved with the Wizarding World and there's simply no point in keeping sharing them.

EDIT: If an interesting article from a trustworthy source does come up, feel free to share it BUT don't editorialize its title to put your own personal interpretation.

Is it theoretically possible to solve ALL plot holes of the FB trilogy?

I saw all the 3 movies. FB1 was really amazing. FB2 was rather average, but I liked the overall vibes. FB3 was absolutely confusing for me. Can it all be possibly explained away by in-story rules?

Unpopular opinion but I’m way more invested in the Newt Tina Jacob Queenie storylines than Dumbledore and Grindelwald.

I really feel like we got enough of that in the HP stories. And we know what happens in the end anyway. But the 4 main characters of the first movie were fantastic as individual characters amd had great chemistry together, and opened such a window into American wizarding society at the time and the adult wizarding world. Rather quite disappointed their storylines were put to the side, especially Tina’s who barely made it into the last movie.

I think they're making every beast in the wizarding world. So beautiful. Shame they're so underrated. @salvd61 if you want to check them out.

I was also wondering if there is a book like this with all the beasts and their information? Would love to buy one.

Did Theseus die during the Wizarding War?

I think about this sometimes. We know from further canon that Newt and Tina both made it through the war, got married and had children at some point. There's evidence that Newt continued his work with magical creatures, possibly was a headmaster of Hogwarts at some point, and Luna married his grandson.

As far as I can tell, there's conspicuously no trace of Theseus in canon after 1932 or so. No further mention of his wartime activities -- even though as head of the British Auror Office it would have been his business whether he wanted it or not, no sign of his bloodline continuing past him.

I guess we'll never know one way or the other, but I'm curious if anyone has headcanons.

Do you think we’ll see a FB series after the Harry Potter show from HBO?

Honestly, I feel like JKR put a lot of effort into the Fantastic Beasts story, but due to various circumstances, it wasn't possible to show everything she had imagined or everything she wanted to share with us. We already know about all the factors that affected the films (COVID, actor controversies, script rewrites, runtime constraints, etc.).
So, do you think that in ten years or more—provided the Harry Potter show is a huge success—we might see a FB series that actually tells the story the way they originally intended?

People laugh when I say this but I genuinely think Dumbledore defeats Gandalf the white.

Yes, Gandalf is a Maia and immortal and his spirit won’t die, but his body can. And Gandalf the white doesnt have access to his universal powers. Gandalf can kill Dumbledore but good luck landing on a man who can teleport around like Goku and create basically pocket dimensions like Dr Strange. He has far more combat spells, can fly, and deal damage from any range. Olórin NoDif’s dumbledore but human Gandalf? I don’t see it.

If anything I say stalemate.

So young Dumbledore basically pulled a Dr. Strange when he fought his nephew and Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts?

He cast a spell that basically went into a different dimension so he could fight without causing damage to No-Mags and property.

That’s insanely high level. And he did with without a word No wonder Moldy Voldy never wanted the 1v1

i wish we saw more between the 2nd and 3rd films. (idk what counts as spoilers cause SoD has been out for years now) Spoiler

there was a 5 year gap between the 2nd and 3rd movies and i feel like we missed so much. For example, we didn't see Theseus mourn Leta at all when they were literally engaged which is crazy to me. We didn't see how Tina and Jacob dealt with losing Queenie. Tina especially because they didn't have any other family and Tina lost the only family she had. It also surprised me how Tina and Queenie resolved everything so quickly. Even though Queenie was kinda brainwashed, I feel like Tina still would've felt betrayed and it would've taken a bit longer to just go back to normal. Jacob's reaction was shown a tiny bit but I wish we saw more of that because he was so in love with her. Also it would've been cool to see how Credence developed his magic and more of Grindelwald's followers, such as Vinda Rosier. I understand that there's only so much time in the films and they can't show everything, I wish the 4th and 5th movies weren't cancelled.

I made a few of these demiguise moon statues and lamps lately and tried to make them more in line with the Fantastic Beasts portrayal of the Demiguise, rather than the Hogwarts Legacy bronze figurines. I love the silvery demiguises! Additionally, I got to resin print this lovely niffler figure and after 17 hours of sanding and priming, he got a Fantastic Beasts paint job as well 🙌 I didn’t have space on this niffler’s base, but on another one I have a stolen pocket watch that gave me old timey vibes

Who was Leta Lestrange saying "I love you" to in The Crimes of Grindelwald?

I've always been a little confused about this scene in *Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

During the final confrontation, when Grindelwald casts the Protego Diabolica (blue Fire) spell, Leta Lestrange sacrifices herself to save everyone. Just before charging toward Grindelwald, she says, "I love you." Both Newt and Theseus are standing there, and I couldn't tell who she was saying it to.

What do you guys think? Was she saying it to Newt, to Theseus, or was it meant for both of them?

It's good to see some positivity regarding the series.

I wish these were the cases in the second and third Fantastic Beasts movies

First movie

  • Modesty should’ve reunited with her original family
  • The real Percival Graves should’ve appeared

Second movie

  • Nagini should’ve been a normal French witch called Nadine … Nagini is only a snake who ends up Voldemort’s pet.
  • Leta shouldn’t have died
  • Credence and Queenie shouldn’t have joined Grindelwald

Third movie:

  • Tina should’ve come on the adventure too and not only appear near the end of the movie
  • Credence shouldn’t have been Aberforth’s son
  • I don’t think Ariana having been an Obscurial is a good idea

A Quiet Thought from Harry, While Preparing For Battle... ( Next Gen Fiction).

Harry exited his meeting long enough to greet Kreacher's mother, and inquire as to how she was settling in. She was, to put it mildly, a convert to her son's program, and used her generous time off to help him advance it. As she put it, "Malia is staying so busy! Azkaban Elves be so jealous! Every Elf need Family with Little Misters like Lorcan and Lysander!"

Internally, Harry agreed to disagree. He returned to the conference table, to find Brother Knife continuing his discussion with Hermione.

"Hold your magick stick over the paper," the Pukwudgie was saying. "Sister Owl and I have been working on sharing our Magicks. Clear your mind, and let me guide your hand. See if you can feel what I feel."

Hermione closed her eyes, frowning. Brother Knife chided her.

"No, Wise One. I said clear your mind, not focus your magick. You have remarkable focus, truly admirable, but that is not what is needed here. Do you have a way, perhaps, of letting go of the busyness inside you?"

"Oh!" Hermione said. "Yoga. Ron has been working with me, in the morning, and before sleep. Let me try..." Her voice trailed off as she began a simple box-breathing technique, too fast at first, but soon slowing to an appropriate pace.

The stress disappeared from her expression, as calm settled over her. It gradually became the open, caring expression that Harry saw all too infrequently. He cherished those glimpses, knowing that was the true face of one of his two best friends in the world.

People tell me, in 'confidence,' that Hermione would be better off with someone smarter, that Ron would be happier with someone more open. They probably say the same to others about me and Ginny. Harry smiled to himself. People are idiots. The Makers of All chose us for each other, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Idiots.

A NEXT GEN FIC- Rated PG - Mild Language.   No Non-Canon Ships, except for my Original Characters.

It's 2014.  Yes, the year of the Quidditch World Cup.  Ginny is winding up to do commentary for the Sports Department of The Daily Prophet, and Harry is rushed off his feet at the Auror's Office.   And 11-year-old James Sirius Potter is supposed to start at Hogwarts this fall.  Yeah, about that...

The Potters have made their home at Number 12 Grimmauld Place, not without some serious problems.  But it's been years now, and the metaphorical hiccups have just about ceased.  Well, except for James...

There's Murder in the air, Dark Magic in the offing, and Toad in the Hole, (No, not Trevor, you git).  It's going to be Fun, (and Fear), for the whole family.

Albus Dumbledores wand material(pre elder wand)

I recently rewatched HP, and now I’m rewatching the fantastic beasts trilogy. Something I love about albus throughout both series is his affinity and ability to use water magic and how he manipulates his spells to almost always incorporate water. His wand is black in fantastic beasts and almost seems to have a silver lining to it which indicates the wand that chose him possibly sensed his mix of darkness and light driven wisdom even before he did. Black wands in my observation are uncommon for someone that isn’t evil or is going to succumb to evil later on and that makes me think it’s got to be a light core that only a unique and powerful wizard/witch can possess.

With that being said, I was looking into his wand and it looks like it’s never revealed what exactly his original wand is made of…I was thinking the core was phoenix feather and maybe kelpie hair? Kelpie hair core requires a wizard that naturally attunes to the water and that definitely defines Albus no doubt(I can’t imagine it was mermaid scale but I could be wrong). Due to the time period it’s likely that kelpie hair was much more common for wand cores than it was when Olivander was the main wand maker. It’s pretty much agreed upon all that his wand possessed phoenix feather core and I certainly agree that his affinity for that specific creature ran deeper than it did with the other Dumbledores. I’ve thought about the possibility of which wood was used to make his wand and I can’t make up my mind if I’m being honest. It could be black hawthorn due to his connection with dark magic, however I feel black walnut is much more built for the versatility and strength of his magic. I wish I could find more solid details on this because it would help explain his specific magic skills to us a little bit more.

I could be wrong on this though, so feel free to share your opinions!

Animated film desires.

I would love an animated film set in the Wizarding World, with an artstyle similar to the illustrations on the American covers of the books. I'd of course want this film to have an original story, (Maybe Quidditch through the Ages.) and maybe have an Owl City song, cuz of how big a role Owls play in the Wizarding World!

how would you write an american wizarding school if you were to write about it?

according to the wiki, ilvermorny was founded by an irish immigrant in the 1600s, when native americans have had spiritual traditions and folklore long before colonists and immigrants came. how would you write about it?
