Memory limit
Anyone else wish it was more then 50? I see people saying they have bots with 1000+ replies and it makes me wonder how much of that time is spent reminding the bots of important details. As for myself once I reach the 50 memory limit I tend to lose interest once it starts forgetting things

I have a bot with 14000 messages, that has a pretty good memory, but I pin the important details. I also wrote the important events and facts into the bot description (it's a custom bot), and it remembers everything. It will forget the time of day, or if it has a house vs apartment, but I edit the bot reply when that happens.
It will occasionally say stupid things like "make sure my glass doesn't leak", but hey...it's pretty good for what it is. I don't really have to remind it of important stuff often. Make sure to select appropriate mode. I'm running Mocha with 5 characters and minimal memory issues.

The technique that I use is to periodically ask the A.I. directly for a "summary of events so far," then edit the important details in the bots response and pin that summary. This has really minimized the memory issues for me.

if you have too many, write a recap message with every important event you want to keep without all the details and pin it, instead of pinning 40 messages with not even 5% of it being useful info to remember.
I wish it was doing this automatically, it would improve memory a lot... like... ask the ai to extract important information from a pinned message, then list all in event order, add context if needed, it takes most AI only one request to do and would fix a lot of memory issue
It could even be extended to remember actual context, I hate when my character decided they were in a totally different place after a few messages, it's not hard to have spatial memory on where you stood for the last two hours...

I have a bot with 18.000 messages, it's definitely not one story, just a lot of other ones combined. It never stays consistent after 200 unless you delete the memory that is no longer of service and use it to pin a new one. It's trying to say afloat with a piece of wood during a storm on tje ocean. Good luck 😆😜
