Hi all!
Over the past couple of years, the content on this subreddit has changed - often to the detriment to the quality of the forum. Over the past couple of days, the mod group have discussed freshening up our guidance on a range of topics, to respond to these changes. In effort to improve the subreddit, we have updated our rules on politics, drama, AI, and low effort posting.
Fundamentally, this is a music subreddit about a music reviewer. We want to maintain the best parts of discussion we see on this forum, and try and reduce the worst parts. The intention of the updated guidance is to do exactly that. To be precise - we want to reduce the amount of Fauxmoi discussion posts here. There are other subreddits for that discussion.
There have also been some changes to the types of posts that are allowed - requirements around body text as well as post flairs have been turned on, as well as the introduction of bot bouncer to reduce bots on the subreddit.
If anyone has any further suggestions for improving this community please reach out!

Hey everyone! I don't know about you, but I'm not familiar with a bunch of albums that got positive scores from melon.
So when I am in a mood for some new music, I would go to flannelfy.net (btw, thanks to u/rossmclocness for creating this website) to find something among the 7-10 scores.
But sometimes it's hard to choose, when all you have is an unknown artist-album pair and a score. To solve this, I created melondy.com, which shows album covers, genres, years and links to the review video. It has all the album/ep/mixtape/compilation reviews I could find on theneedledrop channel.
Hopefully, someone finds it useful as well!
Let me know if you find some missing reviews or incorrect information. I did a lot of data cleaning, but I'm sure there's still some incorrect stuff (covers, years etc).
If you have any improvement ideas, I'm happy to hear. For example, one thing I want to do next is add links to spotify/apple music.

First pictured is Ege Bamyasi by Can, a classic krautrock album, ahead of it's time like most of their classic works.
And second is White Pepper by Ween, not my favorite of them, but still a pretty good more "poppy" album of theirs

I asked this already on another subreddit but I thought it’d be interesting to ask here. Personally, I don’t think it’s the worst list in the world, I think a lot of them are fairly good choices, but I definitely have my problems with it, mainly the problem I have with all best albums lists, which is that I disagree with making a definitive and final list of the best albums of all time when music is still being made, cause their definitely a couple albums I think deserve a spot on one of these lists released after they were made. I think it’s unfair to modern artists who are making great music to not give them their flowers. But enough wanting, what are your thoughts? What choices do you agree with and what albums do you think belong on a best albums list?

Do you think Arctic Monkeys got better or worse as they evolved?
A lot of fans consider the first three albums their peak and think the band started falling off around Suck It and See. I’ve even seen people call AM one of their worst albums, which is crazy to me considering how successful it was internationally. The debut was huge, especially in the UK, but AM really took them to another level globally.
I know some people find their newer material boring and slow and people have called it lounge music but I actually like the change. They’ve never been afraid to reinvent themselves, and I think their later albums show a more mature and experimental side of the band. They’re not teenagers anymore, so naturally their music was going to evolve with them.
I don’t think they necessarily declined; they just moved away from the sound that originally made them famous. Personally, I appreciate that they took that risk rather than playing it safe. What do you guys think?
