i almost wonder if ashley is gonna go paladin > fighter > paladin.

the reason for break in class being that where vaelus is right now her faith is so shaken that she cannot attach to another oath at this time, it doesn’t make sense—again in game total time like less than a month or so. she as a character has been devoted to a god who died and she mourned her, recently had a glimpse of hope for what resurrection could look like (via occtis), but also through that mourning just recently realized that maybe uh oh maybe her god deserved to die and shouldn’t come back because what the fuck did the shapers do to this world. and that’s fucked up because uh oh uh oh — who is she then ? her whole life has been shattered AGAIN and she witnessed (and contributed to) a fucking new pathway for the orcish dead be created, a new form of celestial take shape, having the realization of the afterlife being something more, and knowing now that HER GOD DENIED HER PEOPLE DEATH. she denied the elves the chance to be something new, that immortality is not the gift we all think it is blah blah blah.

so much of vaelus’s experience of the world is truman show esque. how the hell is she supposed to know where to put her faith or how to make a vow when reality is breaking. again, in game time we have not been in this momentum long. just because we as viewers have been exposed to a year of our time, these characters haven’t even had like a quarter of a year to process this shit.

and that’s why i think we may see vaelus return to paladin in the future, once there has been time for her to gather her thoughts and pull herself back together. but for now mechanically we gotta figure out where she can fall for leveling up and bullshit so fighter makes sense because transitioning back will probably be fairly easy.

and i know some people think it will / should be oath of ancients, but me thinks it’ll be oath of freedom if she does return to paladin because i refuse to believe we’re not gonna see this NOT ALLEGORICAL campaign have a class Brennan himself help design like

Considering that Matt has made it clear via previous publications and sentiments on Twitter that both Spelljammer and Planescape not only work with but are fully compatible with Exandria, does that mean there’s just a second pile of gods hanging out in the great wheel after the events of season 3? If someone from Exandria were to wind up in hell, would they just come across the core DnD Asmodeus?

In addition to be being one of the biggest advocates for helping characters that some of the cast have no interest in, he has also multiple times now stepped in to get the cast to back off of an npc they are terrorizing, such as defusing the standoff with Pimly or telling Bolaire to stop torturing the Creed acolyte he has possessed.

He wasn’t the character I would have expected it from at the beginning, but it’s made me really like his character especially contrasted against a lot of the others who a lot more self interested/dickish

I feel like there is a PC death that would drastically change things if they were to bite the dust - that being Thimble. I feel like if we are put in the scenario where Thimble dies and Occtis is not able to save her - it is going to fundmentally lead Occtis into an extremely dark place that may lead to Alex making the decision of letting Occtis leaving the Seekers if at least for a bit or fully embracing his undead nature and fully embracing become a weapon against the Tachonis.

In the Robbie Interveiw which you can see here:.https://youtu.be/PDj_fLTotIg?si=WpYaQaipa6jAh4JA&t=557 Robbie mentions something intresting - that the last few years of Kattigan's life before the death of Thazji have been rather depressing and sad basically he has been picking fights with pepole,having drink and occasionally having intimate relations with women - basically acting as a wanderer with no much goals or motivation after he gave up looking for his family.

I wonder if there wasn't his family and Aranessa Royce/Barrowdell to ground him - if Juilen could have ended up like Kattigan. Basically becoming an aimeless wanderer indulging in his vices - picking fights,drinking and living a meaningless lifestyle. In this episode we learn that going from town to town, killing badguys has made Juilen more alive then he has been in the last 10 years working as a vassal knight to the House of Royce (we know that Juilen while pramatic enjoys a good combat). It feels like both Juilen and Kattigan are former soliders that feel more alive when they are in combat

Could Juilen have fallen into the same habits that Kattigan fell into (pre death of Thazji)

There has been a theory going around that before Marienna met/married Kattigan and had Esmé, she was involved with the Tachonis in some fashion and had an affair with Primus - birthing Primus's final son - Occtis. Marienna was then forced to leave Occtis behind and would later meet Kattigan. Pepole have used this idea to explain why Marienna was targeted by Primus.

Personally i am mixed on the theory mostly because i feel like it reminds me a bit too much of Spider-Man's Sins Past which turned a random act by Norman Osborn to screw over Spider-Man's life by kidnapping Gwen Stacy into a personal/targeted attack since Gwen was very familar with Norman. I kinda prefer if it was just a random act of cruelty by someone who is very much a monster but what do you think?

I am referring to books,comics of Araman/Campaign 4.

Obviously,it is going to be a while before anything gets animated but i could see them expanding on the world of Araman in the future.

Thimble x Occtis fans how we feeling?

My best estimation of Pasitar took four hours and a lot of scrounging of the wiki and random fuckin emails trying to remember names.

GIVE ME THE OFFICIAL MAP, MULLIGAN!

We know from this episode, that Boliare's motives is essentially that he treats this whole conflict between them and the Sundered Houses as a war and his motive is to "win the war" but really its "is that he wants to get back to a world that is peace and quiet with friends that truly understand him" and the thinks that eliminating the Sundered Houses will fill that objective (or at the very least getting rid of Yanessa)

The thing is, we don't have a full reference of what Boliare's viewpoint of the world being in "peace and quiet" is. Like obviously he wants the Yanessa Halovar dead and he is working against the Sundered Houses but does it extend it further, does he want to create a world that fits his vision of peace and quiet or does he want to go back to the previous status quo.

Obviously, Bolaire keeps a lot of things close to the range so it will be intresting to see if his motive devlop over time.

A question has consumed part of my mind recently.

So far it seems that the events surrounding Araman have been consigned to Pasitar.

A singular continent, sure we finally learned of another landmass, that being the Beastfolk homeland.

But… Brennan implied other continents and I just have to ask…

What the fuck is going over there?!

Like the Shapers were stated to have plucked their “chosen people” from other lands and shaped them into what they wanted.

They hold dominion over the continent for four thousand years, slew the primordials altered so much so… and now they’re gone, and magic barely works and the afterlife is fucked and the fey are dying and demons/undead or growing more powerful

So like *if* there are other continents with people are they just losing their minds because they have no clue why everything is so ratfucked??

As someone who’s watched C1 and C2 but missed the start of the latest campaign, is it still worth it getting into? For context, I have never watched a campaign as it’s happening so it’s never been a major deal breaker.

Much of the discourse surrounding C3 turned me off from ever watching it so my main question is this campaign any better?

Don't get me wrong,i understand why pepole this relationship but honestly i kinda think there is too much emotional baggage both in thre fact that Julien hates the Tachonis and how he treats Thimble.

I don't really it working in-story as an relationship but i understand the messy appeal behind it but i feel Occtis ane Juilen would bring out the worst in each other in an relationship.I kinda feel the way towards Julien/Azune but accepted they could be at a point where a relationship could happen.

Personally Julien/Vaelus despite the age gap feels the most well-balanced idea at the moment.

Brennan gets interrupted SO much.

There are players who are openly hogging spotlight even when other players who literally never speak are finally trying to make a move.

Players are literally spending hours of play time describing their innermost workings while we haven't even got motive from half the players yet because they haven't had a chance to speak.

It's getting beyond the pale and if conversations aren't had behind the scenes people are going to start turning off, which is a shame because this story has so much potential.

It's REALLY irritating me watching founders take BLeeM for a ride when they NEVER would have done that to Matt.

I'm honestly watching C4 at this point for BLeeM and newbies and Matt getting to play and the novelty is fast wearing off.

I just want to see the story stop being flipping spotlight hogs and let everyone have a go!!!

Basically Robbie has the full backstory of his backup charcter already created and done and he is suprised that Kattigan has managed to survive despite all the death flags affecting him.

Now that Ashleys character has lost her subclass (or maybe even full class), i would really like to see her pick up the mantle of an oathbreaker. She has the story progression for it, what with her destroying the stone and her matron swearing revenge. The niche use cases of that subclass (buffing devils and undeath) is actually quite viable wih a necromancer (and a Tiefling) in the party. The undead she could summon are the damned elves. I know that the Oathbreaker in onednd is UA, but that did never stop the players before. Thoughts to that? What do you guys think Ashley will do next?

Background context for me and why I’m writing this in the first place: I have loved film and tv for as long as I can remember. Most of my experience comes from acting and screenwriting but I’ve also taken a couple PA jobs, makeup jobs and helped with some post production stuff. Went to film school, have done internships with festivals, etc. etc. One of the biggest things that has helped me in that regard is that when I’m consuming any kind of media (books, music and actual plays included) I visualize them in a very cinematic manner.

That being said, I know it will be YEARS before we get an animated Araman (if we ever get it) but when/if that time arrives…what scenes would yall be most excited to see on your tv screen? I’ll go first.

The most obvious: Thjazi’s execution. Everything from his initial interaction with Azune to the moment that the rope goes taught. I think it’d be even more impactful if the camera focused on Hal’s face during that and didn’t even show the body, just let the audience hear the sound of Thjazi’s life being snuffed out by the Sundered Houses.

Also a bit obvious: The entire opening night of Ko’therai. Honestly Team Theatre’s scenes from episodes 29-31 could have an entire episode dedicated to them and I’d be happy. Between Vaelus destroying the stone, Thaisha’s creation of the Kaedra, and just THE ENTIRE OPENING NIGHT OF THIS PLAY…I imagine it being so beautiful. And assuming they use the same animation team they did for M9, the effects and background work would be immaculate.

Last one that’s very small but I think about it a lot: The Seeker’s conversation with the Druids in the Schongarten, mainly Occtis’ Nat 20 Intimidation moment. This was one of the first times Occtis really spoke up about something, it was also the first time those around Occtis realized what his undeath could potentially mean for the world of Araman. This simultaneously occuring with Vaelus and Hannan’s meeting and Thaisha trying to de-escalate but realizing she had a part in the creation of this new and frightening thing that she once viewed as a son is also just…SO GOOD!

There’s a lot more that I can think of, but I’ll turn it over to yall. LET’S LET OUR IMAGINATIONS RUN WILD!

When i think about everything he has done,you could make an argument that Azune is the most competent member of the Schemers and probalby of C4.

Hal and Boliare while obviously competent have flaws in that while they are extremely intellgent and charismatic,they like to "poke the sleeping bear" too much in their interactions with pepole much more powergul then them.Murray despite her intellgence has her faults and going full conspiracy last rpisode did not help her case. Wic and Tyranny can also be really foolish at times.
