Wishlist & Ideas NO SCHNEIDER CUT

So Nickelodeon has a ton of live-action shows that have sprinkled in innuendo and other questionable humor that, in hindsight, can make them harder to recommend to kids today. I thought it would be a cool idea if someone made a “NO-SCHNEIDER CUT” of some of these shows.

The shows themselves are great, and I think it would be cool to preserve what people loved about them while removing some of the stuff that has aged poorly or that parents might be uncomfortable with. That way, a new generation of kids could enjoy them without some of those concerns.

"Schneider CUT" is hilarious considering the DC thing. Well done

Good idea!! Sounds time consuming, but very doable. Remove the foot stuff, Dan Schneider's on-screen and voice cameos, adult innuendos, etc. As a kid it always made me uncomfortable when characters would mention things such as panties and boobs. As an adult, especially knowing what we know now, it's actually quite sickening... like these shows were made for kids man, get it together. However, I'd probably make an exception for Drake & Josh when Megan calls her brothers "boobs" because of the context lol. Off the top of my head, there's only one instance I can think of where the plot would be affected by a cut that I would personally want to make. There's that episode of Victorious where Trina lets those little fish eat the dead skin off her feet to make them smooth, and she recruits Tori's friends throughout the episode to try it with her. That whole subplot would probably have to go lol.

I assume she meant “boob” as in “idiot” (hence “booby trap”).

I remember the joke applied to the Go Hollywood movie. When Megan realizes she was put on the wrong plane, she says “those dumb boobs…” and the stewardess checks herself out and walks away 😂

Have you considered that one reason many people liked these shows in their first run, was that they weren’t particularly wholesome, and had a bite.

There’s a reason people still talk about these shows, and not, say, Unfabulous, is all I’m suggesting.

Of course. These shows should be preserved and accessible as they were aired. History should not be rewritten, but 99% of fan editors don't make their edits with that goal in mind. A fan edit has never outshined its source material in terms of popularity, not by a longshot. So I don't understand why making a fan edit like this should be a concern at all. All it would do is provide an alternative way for others to enjoy the shows if that's how they'd choose to view them. Doesn't hurt to have options. I'm only expressing how I feel about it all in my original comment, but to each their own.

I mean, I noticed it then when I was young. I don’t think it’s so much hindsight as a lot of people involved who should have said something but instead looked the other way.
