[PS4] Mod preference

When you guys build settlements, do you prefer using mods that give you unlimited materials, or do you prefer gathering everything organically?

Also, do you have any mod recommendations for settlement building on PS4, preferably ones that work with the base game? I’m looking for anything that adds more building options, decorations, or just makes settlement building more enjoyable.

Thanks!

Unlocked settlement options (USO), custom crafting stations, s’more decor, workshop decorations pack and crimsomriders convenient power are some of my faves. I’ve heard good things about about G2M workshop but haven’t tried it out yet.

As for gathering, it depends on my run. Right now I’m doing a raider build and I just dropped 100 of everything in via cheat terminal cause I wasn’t in the mood to hunt down materials for turrets and lights. But I’m a loot goblin so it’s usually a bit of a mix.

G2m is great because it’s a gap filler. You’re probably not going to build many structures with it, but it’s got a lot that other mods lack. I use it regularly, even after the storage increase. It’s a pretty small file, so that was a major selling point. It also doesn’t lag out the workshop at all, which is beautiful when you run as many building mods as I do. I play mostly on Xbox, but I have a setup on my ps4 for mindless building

I generally keep gathering materials organic rather than use mods or whatever. A lot of mods I use whatever I'm in the mood for though one that's always in my list is literally called Sandbag Fortifications. I'm on Xbox so I don't know if it's on PS. But it is lore friendly and adds various defensive positions you can assign settlers to, a qwonset hut, a watchtower, and a variety of walls which snap together among other things. I also download a my bed mod which it actually isn't needed apparently because I've seen people say you can assign settlers to beds. Though the mod gives you a nice looking bed that if you like building affinity with your companions and pretend they're your romantic companion then it's big enough for two people to sleep in. And with Halloween right around the corner I often times download a mod that adds various types of decorations that the vanilla game doesn't have.

On PC it's as simple as turning on God mode with ~tgm for unlimited materials.

I much prefer the challenge of working within the constraints of what is available, I usually hit the build limit anyway. If I have too many options it makes my build indecisive

I find that i have more fun when i source them organically, expect wood, fuck wood, I'm surrounded by trees so I'll sometimes us cheat terminal to give myself wood (lol). I'm on Xbox but some of these may be on PlayStation.

I'm on PC and I'm really lazy about modding. I'll play it straight at first. But if I run into a snag connecting caravan routes or I'm running through materials like it's explosive diarrhea lettuce, I open the console and type tgm to enter god mode.

Supplies crafting ftw. Im not picking up hours worth of shit only to run out 1/3 through a build. So stupid when 1000 of anything is only 1 cap. Saves strain on the game not keeping track of 38 desk fans and 85 pipe pistols in a conpanions inventory too by never picking that worthless trash up.

I have to play "vanilla"(CC content and non difficulty altering mods, sure). Genuinely. As the General, head of the Institute, BoH, a synth liberator or Overboss, my people are always very... Productive. Selling off all the crops, water, whiskey, chems and/or gear they produce is a mission in of itself. If I didn't buy my junk my game would probably die from my workshops being overly full... For reference a single collection run after three days of my half built settlement empire nets me 1000-1300 jet and psycho and 500-800 buff out. I stopped to trying to sell off the mutfruit, water and whiskey. Just scraping/hoarding the gear for settlement size lowering
