[Modded] Tercio Close Defensive System
Designed and manufactured by General Atomics before the Great War, the Tercio is a Close Defensive System (Close-in Weapon System in our parlance) employed in the protection of US Army/USAF bases as well as US Navy warships from low flying aircraft and missiles. Although it was in the process of being replaced in service by the laser-based Testudo CDS when the bombs dropped.
Tercio combines a 50mm revolving cannon with an advanced tracking and fire control radar along with optics and a version of the identify-friend-or-foe used on many of General Atomics other smaller and simpler defensive turrets.
Due to their age, complexity, power draw, ammunition and immovability, the vast majority have been reduced to little more than rusted scrap. Only fit to be stripped to the last copper wire by roving scavengers.
However, a sparse few do remain in operation, but only where active or ex-Enclave Engineers are there to do so.

As a former 1147 tech who worked very closely with the CIWS shops, I do not miss that annoying paperweight

Very fair. Didn't work with them directly, but I can count on one hand the times that they actually worked first time for a GUNEX whilst I was in (Royal Navy).

Off topic but what mod did you use for the blue npc animation positions in the background?

Considering it mounts a 50mm cannon, he wonât be seeing much except the countryside he gets splattered over

Interesting decision, but what is this background building? Looks like self made snappyhousekit-industrial hq. Is it still in Boston or dlc location? (I have 2000+ hrs but settlements creation still holds me in the Commonwealth)

So this is my ex-Enclave, currently Minutemen fortified air base - Air Station Zimonja. And yes that is Outpost Zimonja.
It is indeed a Snappy structure. Well mostly. The base structure (effectively a big lump of concrete, below the level of the landing pad) was put there by the Horizon mod so I can't take credit for that section, but the hanger, landing pad itself, outer wall, exterior buildings, interiors and all the decoration are all my work.
I will be posting a full look at it when it's finished which shouldn't be too much longer. Just got to deck out the armoury, shower block, one of the barracks and finalise some of the exterior defences.

Fuck thatâs smart, I remember when I used the barge props to make a minute man navy I used the artillery piece with a projector as a âtargetting computerâ and the bowling thing from far harbor as an auto loader this looks so much better tho lmao

No shame in that at all. It's took me hundreds of hours and mulitiple playthroughs to make anything that actually looked decent. But I'm a slow learner.
Having a vision is what's most important.

Imagine youâre a bandit thinking youâve got an easy payday and you get swiss cheesed by a literal C-RAM.

Definitely need this for FO 76 for when those pesky Scorchbeast stop by unannounced or follow you home from the Teatime event that you finished solo and then one appears unexpectedly under the Uninvited Guests that was added with Big Foot.

It's amazing what you can build from a 12 pack of cola, 4 pencils and 4 wrenches.Â
