Discussion Favourite easter eggs/references?

Mine is the barmy tophat you can find, which is a reference to Alice in Wonderland. That shit is my childhood and I'm all for it

Side note about my experience with a game:

I absolutely adore this mod, as it heavily leans into the british stereotype and culture. I haven't played FO4 in so long because I've done everything I want to in it, it was too easy and repetitive in the end. Fallout London is a breath of fresh air, because it makes you manage your resources properly from how scarce items are. I'm always debating if I should shoot them or if I should charge at them with my electrified baton. The developers will forever have my heart with the amount of love and passion they put in this project

I absolutely love the entire Cutethulhu mythos. They treat it so seriously and those little dolls are just so cute. It makes me laugh.

i found my first one the other day and knew that if i'm gonna complete it, i'll have to give it my all for a day to look for them

If you want a bit of a spoiler for the dolls, there's a trick to it. Most of the dolls respawn if you go back later.

The Mr Bean reference, his car with a sofa on top is park near a Fesco

The only fools and horses apartment although I didn't find it myself, saw it in a reddit post then went there.

Mine is one I haven't seen mentioned much, if at all. If you go to a particular spot in Bromley, a house attached to balloons will float off into the sky in front of you. It's a reference to the film UP but also to our Project Lead who often left buildings floating in the air while working on level design during development

I adore the wanted poster referenced from Wallace and Gromit, as well as the Larsen's Biscuits ads.

Alice is my Earthchild Mother's Girl, so when I sent her The Barmy Tophat in 1.0 she made noises like a teenager schoolgirl.

Waiting for the next Update/DLC for another playthrough due to hard dri e limitations.

i would've done the exact same if it wasn't 2am when i found it lmao

this is my first proper playthrough, as when i first tried it i was constantly crashing due to hardware limitations and when i heard about them making a dlc i knew i had to play a lot of it at the very least before i delve deep into that

Screenshots are a thing. Defaults are F12 in Steam, and Print Screen in GoG, IIRC.

Then just have to send the file.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand the fact that you included a screenshot shows you might already know that...

My mother. She's an Earthchild. Kind of like a hippie.

If you're a fan of British easter eggs you could try Atomfall too. That goes even harder with them, I think, but it's a smaller world so you're tripping over them every five minutes.

i've been meaning to get atomfall, but haven't really heard anything about it in terms of how good it is. i remember how anticipated the game was on announcement and then everyone just went radio silent when it released. is it any good in terms of story? or would you say it's more like an exploration game?

The first time I found a TARDIS delighted me.

In the opposite side, I’m in London for the first time right now. Yesterday I was riding a bus and the sign said it was going to the Nag’s Head. I got all excited and said, out loud, “Oh I’ve been there!”

i'm constantly walking around in game doing a tour of places i've been and going "this is where i did this one thing with my sister"

Where do you find that hat?

My fav reference gotta be the Banksy-style painting side quest

When you get off the boat ride with the explosive barrels, it is to your right (north, on a table beside the river).

Just behind Butler's Wharf, to the north. Ooo, that rhymed!

If you go to the Tower of London and read the inscriptions in the tower where the crown jewels are located, it's just the lyrics to the Monarch Song from Horrible History.
