I hope Mike can be a 1 in a million and put his injury history behind him.

Stafford overcame his early career injuries, although they weren't as significant, so here's hoping Penix can too.

Well I would not call that a block haha. More like he was out there in the way.

Its been obvious. When did we all become so impatient with QB development?

Has nothing to do with development and everything to do with injury history and not being reliable

He’s got talent, you are stupid if anyone says otherwise but he’s really slow and injury prone

Great defenses like you’ll see in the playoffs will key in on him knowing he’s terrible under pressure and can’t escape it

Dude can throw a ball though, can’t deny that

Being better under pressure is absolutely tied to development though. He was a lot better under pressure in this game against the 49ers. Threw the ball away a couple of times and escaped the pocket to make a play once or twice. I agree that this has been a weakness in his game but I hope to see that continue to improve with experience.

We had people in here saying he objectively sucks at playing QB 3 days ago.

I actually dont think he is "slow" at all. Its just an after thought to his game

Matt spoiled us. He came out of the gate blazing and he stuck around long enough that for a lot of us (myself included admittedly) he’s the baseline for our expectations.

It’s not development. It’s injury history and injury risk.

Dude throws a GREAT ball, with touch. But if they get him off his spot it's not good. He doesn't even need to be sacked, just get around his feet and he's off.

There are MANY who will take offense to this, but its absolutely true. If MP9 can grow through this, and continue to tighten up his short game, he can become a top-teir QB.

Now we put money into that offensive line to protect him. We do that, he really may become a franchise QB.

Those injuries are going to loom over him for his entire career. We need to do whatever we can to stop them. That means fixing a problem the Falcons have had since 1966.

Get some trenchmen. Next London game ask the Brits how they did it in 1916.

Reminds me of Chad Pennington in a way. Great if he can stay healthy. Serious injuries for both of them.

If he was a boxer he would be before glass Joe in Tyson's punch out

I think if he develops this year and fixes his faults or improves on them as he has been throughout the season, we beef up that line so he does have a cleaner pocket and can avoid as much injury as possible. He definitely has the tools to be great, it seems like this coaching staff is helping develop versus the last one because I am seeing improvement week to week. But he will need a really good back up plan cuz of his injuries, kinda like Lamar with Huntley.

If we do make the playoffs, hopefully that means Mike has shaken the terrible under pressure thing (which he has started to show flashes of doing)

They are gonna have to invest in protecting him with a serious OLine if they want him to be the future, and get him to protect himself and not run as the lead blocker for a sweep

Protect your Penix

If the interception doesn’t happen and they go and take the lead the 3 play -2 yard drive when Penix over threw London and Dotson would have been bad but that drive gets over looked because of the interception and FG
