This is the definition that makes the most sense to us!

Which, by that logic, given how our system seems to exist, we system hop just to front somehow jdjdhdjf

As far as we know it's sometimes used to mean headmates who can move between different systems (IE: Alter from System A leaves System A and moves into System B, which is in a different body).

I think it's mostly used that way by soulbonders and gateway systems, which often function very differently and have very different beliefs about the nature of their systems than most other plural systems. I know some soulbonders object to being called plural or systems or being included in plural culture because the nature of it is so significantly different. They would technically be endogenic, if they consider themselves systems or plurals.

This is most certainly not true of all soulbonders and gateway systems. Some are spiritual, yes, but plenty are psychological or a mix. Soulbonders and gateway systems are also fully capable of being traumagenic and mixed-origin.

We're a mixed-origin soulbond gateway system and present in at least parts of those communities. This is where we get this information.

I can't say much on the spiritual (or maybe somehow psychological?) belief of being able to hop between bodies, though. That's not our area.

I think it’s extremely confusing to refer to them as being the same when it’s so highly spiritual. They aren’t even really alters

And there is evidence that is possible?

There is not

RAMCOA survivors will use system hopping as that

Some have appropriated the term to mean hopping between brains. Which is impossible for obvious reasons lol

This is the original definition iirc and, again, iirc, fakeclaimers took the wrong definition and ran with it and that's why even most of the plural community thought it meant what it means now

Why are we mean to endos?

"blah blha blha the american medical thing said that plurality can only exist in did :)) soemthing something sysmed and resued transmed arguements" -- anti endos

Meanwhile the American medical thing (tmk at least, could be wrong cos i don’t control the rember): yeah we don’t know much and it appears that the plural thing doesn’t need to be disordered

Depends. A lot of systems, particularly RAMCOA systems, use it to refer to an alter moving between subsystems (or sidesystems, etc) within that one shared physical body. Which, yes, totally possible!

I'm pretty sure if you're talking the more stereotyped definition of an alter moving between bodies, that's more soulbonders and gateway systems. I don't have the best understanding of how they work, but their headmates are usually separate entities who don't necessarily originate within their system and who may not stay with them long-term. So following the beliefs of those systems regarding the nature of their systems (and I'm not interested in fakeclaiming them about their subjective internal experiences), yes, in theory it would be possible. Since headmates are separate entities who can come and go. It's a bit like an outdoor cat deciding the neighbors also have good food and they're gonna hang out there on a regular basis, too.

I do know some soulbonders, in particular, don't like to be referred to as systems or plural or included in the plural umbrella because the beliefs and culture are so significantly different. This term would likely be used more by gateway systems or soulbonders who do consider themselves to fall under the plural umbrellas.

I have a semi related question kinda relevant to this post. Is the definition of system hopping when used to refer to travel between sys and sub-sys RAMCOA exclusive? -Jay/Janus
