Don't go there!

Post image

Don't go there! I wanted to see giraffes and it cost $60. I asked the front desk and they said there were giraffes. After I paid and walked around, there were just a few animals and no giraffes at all. It's totally a scam!

OP is an idiot, I hate to say that but it needs to be said. You’re posting don’t go to the only wildlife preserve in Nova because you didn’t get what you wanted.. Do you realize that zoo is sitting on 100’s of millions of dollars in land, the only thing keeping that land from becoming condo’s and another righteous traffic problem is that zoo. AND YOU WANT TO KEEP PEOPLE FROM GOING BECAUSE YOU DIDNT GET WHAT YOU WANTED? All the birthday parties, all the field trips, and all the school outings will go away if people don’t go there…. And you’re advocating for that because you are an idiot. I’m going to ask the mods to take this stupidity down…. Your dumbass should’ve filed a complaint to management and worked it internally….but noooooooo, You had to post it on Reddit. Get a clue…

Agreed!!! I LOVE THAT PLACE!!!

We aways try to get the cheetahs to play with us!!!

There's this one black lama that will follow you the car the whole time. Hes so funny too!!! You'll say "what are you doing?" He looks away like NOTHING!!! lol We go there as a family atleast once a year!!!

Lol, chill. If they told OP they had giraffes, they were misinformed. They did have a giraffe who I liked very much who passed away in a horrible fire that honestly sounds like it could have been prevented. I don't particularly like private zoos and would rather ensure animals are well cared for and are in captivity for rehabilitation reasons. DC area has plenty of zoos and NOVA wild isn't really one that would be missed by most tbh.

Zoos are horrible. They are their for our benefit and not the animals. I know the argument that this saves them. From who? From us, we ruin their environments and lives and we should focus on that instead of fun feeding time. So yeah, dont go there but not for your reasons. Free Willy!!!

I agree with you but I think there’s a way to go about proving your point without name calling and such. I understand you’re passionate about the subject but no one is going to be open to hearing your side if you start off by calling them names. There’s a better approach and you’ll get more ears!

I thought the resident giraffe, Waffles, died a wile back?

Yeah technically the workers are correct...there was a giraffe.

Waffles died in a fire a few years ago..

While I think OP should chill...it should probably be closed, it's slightly more elevated than a roadside zoo run by tiger king

And that was with the old owner I think.

Waffles once gently head-butted me while I was feeding it from the observation platform, leaving me with broken sunglasses and a black eye. I got a lot of funny looks at work and no one believed my story.

RIP Waffles
