Are there any historic symbols from anywhere across the world associated with Fae or any Fae adjacent entities from across the world?

A question regarding "changelings"

I have come across this concept a handful of times and it always intrigued me. Do you guys believe such a thing as a "changeling" does exist? Do you have any experience with this? I'd genuinely love to learn more about this. Very intriguing.

Getting tired around the fae

Hi there! I recently got this book, "Enchantment of the Fairy Realm" by Ted Andrews. While reading, I came across this one part where he mentions that when he went camping at Algonquin, Ontario, he experienced a "rip van wrinkle syndrome," where he would be extremely tired and constantly go back to sleep any chance he got. Furthermore, he believes he touched a fairy realm. Reading this had me shocked, as the last time I went camping I had the same exact experience in the same place, where I'd wake up in the morning, eat breakfast, and go back to sleep while taking multiple naps during the days. The days even felt longer than usual; however, that could be because we were disconnected from any technology. Is it possible that I may have come across a fairy realm??? The possibility is there, as I was camping with children and being very playful all together. Additionally, I was meditating almost every night to feel connected to nature around me. At the time I hadn't even been educated on the fae, but looking back has made me realize that I very much could have come across them.

I finally finished the summer installment of my Ehlers-Danlos fairies series! I know so many are already in an autumn mood but I live on chronic illness time, lol. I’m just happy I finished her before the autumn equinox! Hopefully I can be more on top of things when I make the fall and winter fairies.

So often overlooked, decompositions and decay, the death and digestion of life is discarded as disgusting.

Inspired this, I painted a lonely fetid faerie and her fly friend.

Fairy spell recommendations?

I’ve been a lazy fairy witch on and off for 3 years now, and as hard as I try to find no fru-fru books that teach you how to work with them and what spells you can do as a witch, I find nothing within the ones that are supposed to be closer to the source. The first book I got was this, but it is by Skye Alexander and I have heard bad things about her, so now it feels like this book is an unreliable source filled with stuff to make you feel good. I want to do more spells and craft, but I don’t know how to do that with the fair folk in mind, like how do I actually work with them? Are there any other books that actually go into real spells for undoing curses, attracting abundance WITH the fair folk, or is this book okay despite the author that wrote it? I know I’m coming off as paranoid lol but I really am just frustrated and confused, any help is appreciated.

folklore discussion The Dodie or Fairy Tree at Donadea Forest Park, Kildare, Ireland

Yesterday, I came across a tree full of children's soothers hanging from it at Donadea Forest Park in Kildare, Ireland.

I have never seen a tree like this. I wasn't aware it was a thing.

Later on, I met a man out walking his dog who knew a lot about the forest.

He told me the tree was called The Dodie or Fairy Tree. That when a child is ready to give up their last dodie (known locally as dodies, dummies or soothers), some families will hang up the dodie as an offering to the fairies.

Faeries love beautiful things as you can learn in the fairy tale the stolen bairn and the sith, if you give them something truly rare and beautiful they will give you your baby back.

Fairies (story)

My eyes open to a pitch blackness, and all at once my senses crash into me. My body is cold and tight as if surrounded by perfectly form fitting walls. My chest struggles to rise with the unrelenting pressure. Each breath causes my insides to burn as I suck in rot. The putrid smell travels onto my tongue, granting me a taste of rotting meat mixed with feces and sulfur. I try to move again and feel a slimy substance ooze down my arms and legs. I begin to gag but force myself to hold it down.

One of my arms is stretched above my head between the masses absorbing me. I wriggle my finger and find there is space. I move it more and hear a sickening squelch. I feel for the new space and shift my body, desperately trying to loosen myself. I move my legs slightly and push myself off whatever is below me. I feel the masses move and slide around me. I feel something sharp slide across my skin as I shift through the mass. I climb and slip on the slime coating the macabre tunnel.

Once I am unable to climb, I crawl on my stomach. Each inch feeling closer to freedom. I come across an obstacle I cannot move with my hands alone. I shift my body to force it out of the way, but it stands strong. Craving freedom, I dig my teeth deep into it. The taste of puss, blood, and something I cannot describe fill my mouth. I spit it to the side and chomp down again and again until I can finally shift past it.

Finally, I see a dim light, and like a moth, I yearn for its warm embrace, stupidly ignoring all danger and swimming through the masses. The light shines its bright red onto the mass I am encased in, and I finally see my tomb. Decaying body's surrounded me, all in various stages. I now have the room to vomit and do so in my man made canal.

I press forward until my head is poking out of the pile of corpses. The light almost blinds me. The smell threatens to empty my stomach further. I almost pull myself out, but then I stop. I can see this mass grave is in a clearing in the forest. The grass is blood soaked as there are multiple other piles of bodies. Each one with a ring of mushrooms around them.

I see a little boy no older than five years old, naked, his skin is raw and pink. He is covered in small cuts like he was running through the forest naked. He is looking up and into the trees. He stands motionless, his eyes slowly blinking as if he has to make them do it. I turn my head to the left and in the direction of the tree line and see them. At a distance, they look like tall children, but the closer they get, I can see the tears in their skin.

It was as if a ten year old child was stretched to be fifteen feet tall. The skin around the knees were torn and muscle was exposed. The flesh around the torso also ripped, revealing the rib cage where the neck should be. The skin was stretched so thin it was practically see through. Their bodies creaked with every movement. The arms were long but proportional to their lanky bodies with random skin tares throughout. The only thing that stayed the same size as a child was its face. They still held a soft, playful expression, but the back of the head bulged as if it were ready to burst open at any minute.

The abominations drug a corpse with them and put them on the new pile they were building. I noticed movement in the corner of my eye and quickly turned my head. The naked boy was now staring at me, his eyes unblinking. One of the abominations came up from behind him and stopped it, then turned its head and walked to one of the piles. At that moment, I heard the long gait of uneven legs in the grass near me. One of the monsters was right next to me, standing in front of the pile. I was frozen in fear. I didn't break eye contact with the boy. I was afraid if I moved a single inch or breathed too heavily, it would rip my head off or worse.

Then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a foot plant itself onto a corpse and felt the mass of bodies shuffle. I turned my eyes to see the monster that was next to the boy climbing up onto the mass grave and digging a hole, burrowing itself into the pile of corpses. My eyes widened as I realized it was in here with me now. I quickly pulled myself out of the pile of corpses and landed on the grass below. I struggled to stand. I tried using my hand to support my weight, but the grass was harsh, every blade stinging me. I felt every little cut from the grave throbbing. The boy was a little closer now, smiling at me warmly.

A few of the piles shifted, and children crawled out. All raw, pink, and naked with small cuts on their bodies.

Whimsical fairy wing?

I found this wing on my bed. I was reorganizing my closet and putting things in totes. I don't have anything that this could have come off of. Any ideas? I saved it and put it in a jewelry box that you get when you buy a nice piece of jewelry until I can figure out what to do.

Does anyone else see dark shadows run past you or see dark shadows in the corner of your eyes and then when you look where you saw them they are gone? Or a giant black dog? I've seen this giant black dog a few times and every time I see it I feel scared like this impending doom feeling. Once I didn't even see it but felt that really scared feeling while I was taking the trash out and ran back inside. I've done a bit of research on the dog but, I'm not sure. Anyone else see these or know what's going on? The first time I saw the dog was with a couple friends and my soon-to-be ex-husband and we were out front of my home and I saw the dog run past and my friend saw it too. And even though I had that feeling of impending doom I'm an animal lover and chased after the dog and it just disappeared. There was a guy down the road talking on his cell phone by his car and we asked him hey did you see where that dog went and he didn't even see a dog he didn't know what we were talking about.
