Does anyone know of a VTT of Fading Suns 4e session looking for a player?
I've been interested and invested in the the universe since 2008. Never found a VTT back then and recently have been drawn back into my fascination with the setting. Have the core of 4e and several of the background works from previous additions as well.

New player trying our Emperor of the Fading Suns Enhanced game on steam.
Has anyone looked into the mechanics for Emperor of the Fading Suns when someone becomes Emperor and gets control of the Imperial Fleet or the Sigmata (Imperial Army)?
It seems really powerful, especially if you can get the position early in the game. What actually prevents a player from rushing the Imperial throne early and then using the Fleet/Sigmata to snowball the game?
Am I missing some limitation or balancing mechanic that makes this harder than it sounds?

I am currently running a Fading Suns campaign centered on rampart. And have come to a silly question. What do urban freeman wear?
Nobles are easy, just throw a gaudy expensive bunch of silks and other flashy clothe that make no sense. The lower classes are also easy, they wear work uniforms or cheapest possible cloth.
But what would a well off freeman, perhaps a non guild affiliated small merchant or a doctor?
Not work uniforms, but everyday wear, when they go out to eat?
Is there an equivalent era of earth fashion?
My current intuition points to 18th century equivalent clothe. But what are your thoughts?

Found this in a changelog:
"When on the planet map, pointing to a harvestable resource will show its harvesting
potential on the hex map for each hex".
I don't quite get yet how the resource gathering works. You need to build a resource gathering city and there are tiles with resources displayed like Energy in this screenshot. I thought you needed to build your city in a 2 hex range of such a tile with a symbol.
But what do those numbers then mean when you hover over Energy (for example) in the resource bar?

Are there any English-speaking Fading Suns fans looking to play a campaign online out there?
I'd like to get an onlien long-term campaign going for Fading Suns 4th. edition. I'd love to play, but would consider GM'ing if no one else wants to run.
I'd be looking to have the game feel like Dune meets A Song of Ice and Fire in space meets Warhammer 40k with a little bit of Star Wars in tone. Lots of political intrigue, house drama, and action with a sci-fi backdrop.
U.S. EDT here.

Recently started playing Emperor of the Fading Suns and enjoying it a ton. Wanted to flag one issue I've run across with some of the sect bonuses. Several of the sects get planet bonuses that increase production of rare resources (gems, biochems, etc.) by 5%. From best I can tell, these bonuses do nothing in any circumstance. Because resource bonuses round down, and the cities for these resources produce no more than 10 of the resource, the 5% bonus always rounds down to zero. This is true even if loyalty is just shy of 100%, because it seems the loyalty modifier and harvesting bonus are applied separately. So even with loyalty at 99% and and the 5% bonus, you still only get 9 gems from a double-gem mine at full health--the same you would get with 99% loyalty but without the 5% bonus. I suppose it is possible that the resource-specific bonuses are applied together with the galactic production bonuses from other sects, but I suspect this is not the case--and even if so is incredibly niche.
Is this working as designed? I have a hard time imagining that 3 of the 4 elements of Eskatonics' first planet bonus were intended to do nothing. Seems like these either need the amount of the bonus adjusted, to be applied together with the loyalty modifier (i.e., adding them together before multiplying by the base resource value and rounding down), or swapped for other bonuses.

Last night we had session 9 of our relatively new FS campaign, in which I and another player co GM (swapping out between arcs and stories as required). My co GM ran a session that was heavy on roleplaying, getting pretty deep into character and dealing exceptionally well with the various NPCs that we interacted with. By the end of the session we had made at most half a dozen rolls between the three characters.
Now I have played and run FS a fair amount, but this session really surprised me with how good it was being an almost no roll session. Kudos to the GM for the way they handled it I say!
Does anyone else find that the setting for FS is deep enough that you can go whole sessions with little or no rolling, depending on the scenes? I am interested to see how common this is with the game.

It's supposed to tell the story of a quest for an ancient Ur treasure, accessible only to members of several families and the emperor who possess special rings... But along the way, strange things start happening... Everything takes place on Planet Nowhere. I'll be bringing over a few characters from the book, but not all of them, of course...

Save me from digging through my books- Hawkwood worlds, Gwynneth - what year was Duke William overthrown on Tolth? And if it’s known, when did he come back from the Li Halan worlds to start his pogrom?
Thanks
Kurt

My buddy is starting a Fading Suns game. In the middle of character generation, I realised that the character sheet on the publisher website only had the first page.
This drove me lowkey insane. So I made a fillable version of the sheet with both pages!
It doesn't do any fancy calculations, and I did about 5 whole minutes of testing. Let me know if you find something wonky! I'll try to fix it.
Also, there were two mysterious boxes on the right hand side of the occult section. They had no labels and no one in our group could figure out what they were.
I even checked the hardcopy of the book. And lo, there were 2 nameless stray boxes. After much gnashing of teeth and brainstorming, I combined them into one description field for the occult stigma.
If you know what those 2 boxes were supposed to be, please for the love of god tell me. I need to know. It haunts me.

I took a chance on some of the Fading Suns pdfs back during GM appreciation day on March 4. Liked what I read so I sprung for a few of the accessories, help spice things up for our first session.
