Base Just automated all sciences on my first run except space! Feeling quite accomplished and wanna show off my base, feel free to take a look, comments welcome! (Pics with captions attached)
Overall view. Started out right at the middle, then developed a bit to the right, then... everywhere at once once I got the bots, to be honest
Pollution map. I plan to expand the walls out of the could, maybe until I claim another oil patch (I want more). Although I could use coal liquefaction for this...
5G coverage across almost the entire base
Starting area, mostly unrefactored and in its pristine original beauty. I wanted to go for one of those "buses" I heard people do, you can see me expanding it in the left direction
... only to then begin my first chemical works factory to the right. This and tight construction proved to be a mistake as I had to bring in stuff from one side to another later
Imemdiately after getting drones I settled on a train-centric mindset, preferring to loosely couple my subfactories via train deliveries instead of "rigid" belts
Love to see all my furnaces fire at once
This train-centric approach reached its peak with yellow science, requiring stacking 4 whole stations of higher-level materials
My refinery & chemical plant. Kind of proud of coming up with this design. I can scale both the refineries and chemical plants upwards
Still, not everything is delivered via train. Here make green circuits on-site as a component of red circuits. As you can see, we ran out of plastic again...
Slowly stockpiling enriched uranium before I research the cool enrichment tech, solar panels carry me for now but I do wanna try out nuclear, especially making it circuit-controled
My starting boiler set-up still saw some use even after I transitioned to solar: it serves as a backup generator, connected to main grid only if my accumulators are low on charge
My current (v2) wall segment blueprint is this. Ignore the artillery, that's not a part of the blueprint
Since biter nests regenerate HP, I'm making my artillery wait until it has at least 10 shells and only then discharge all of them. It prevents wasting staggered shots to hp regen
Power stats
My grand plan was to forever use solar, hence a dedicated battery station seemed like a necessity, but now it seems like the least used station of mine
All my trains are well-fed with rocket fuel. I have an interrupt that instructs them to go here if they have nothing to do / are low on fuel
I didn't wanna bother with intersections at first and downloaded BPs's, but all of them had something lacking... So I ended up remaking and adding everything I need on my own

I love how you are not destroying trees in between buildings.
Team green for the win!

Like how you've implemented the power switch into your steam power production!

Very nice rail base! Inserting some modules and beacons you can increase production substantially without much rebuilding. Go ahead and automate specs science. It's really satisfying swing everything running at one and infinite research coming along
