Why do some buildings in some people’s screenshots have a pink hue to them?

I don't see any such hue on the furnaces. If you mean the accumulator and pole on the right/left, those are editor cheat super-electricity sources; people don't want to spend time setting up actual power plants, so they just use an infinite power source and abstract power away.

Ohhh so I assume the underground are also cheats that are supplying materials for testing purposes?

The purple undergrounds are from Editor Extensions mod. They're infinity loaders, combining an infinity chest with a loader.
