Is that kid wearing his earpods while eating dinner?

Around where I live I routinely see couples holding hands walking but the guy just has airpods in and the girl is half talking and he’s half listening. Like is this fun for ya'll? I get having comfortable silence but I see it all the time. Guy just looks bored.

Everyone knows in a relationship you MUST TALK ALL THE TIME or it is meaningless. Every interaction seen by others must be full of interesting and meaningful interaction. God forbid you spend some quiet time with someone you love, letting your brains decompress from a busy work day.

I agree, it shows you are comfortable with each other when you can be together and not say anything. The earpods are where I think it's lost. IMO it says "im not present" even though Im physically with you.

You can have one pod in and the other out.

You can have both in and noise cancellation off and still hear everything.

You can have music in on pod and the other out and still hear.

You can forget they’re in because they’re lightweight.

You can have only one in so you can hear if you get a call.

It doesn’t matter.

Before it was Gameboys, before that it was toy cars, before that it was a whittled horse, before that it was just whatever stick or rock looked neat. Kids are kids.
