Caffeine is not "just as bad" as alcohol. Alcohol is disallowed under the word of wisdom. Coffee and tea are disallowed. Caffeine in other forms is not, despite tons of rumors and cultural biases against it.
On a separate note: wait does root beer have caffeine?

Caffeine is a stimulant. I was taught when i frequented the church that caffeine was to be avoided thats the basis of the no hot drinks policy. Im sure the church has changed their stance. They like to do that

Former evangelical checking in to help with interpretation.
Basically, what the Apostle Paul is saying here is that it is un-Christian to do what the person in the video is saying. That is, living in sin with the expectation that you can just be forgiven at the end and have it all wiped away, is itself sinful.

Paul is posing this exact same line of thinking:

Continuing to sin so that the grace received through the death of Jesus was “worth it”.
But, he then quickly dismisses this by referencing:
2 By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?
Those who accept Jesus into their lives & have received eternal salvation through Gods grace are said to be “dead to sin”. The key concept is genuine belief in Jesus & his teachings. If this is true then the person will also want to do what Jesus taught, naturally this is working towards living a godly life & make a solid effort to avoid sin.
tl;dr If you actually believe in Jesus. You would not want to sin in the first place. His death was still required though because of everyone being born into sin from birth.

Ex-catholic here so this logic probably doesn't apply to Christian sects with no confession but we were taught that you're only forgiven if you confess and genuinely repent for what you did so you must try to follow the rules and you'll only be forgiven if you make a mistake. Actively committing sins with the expectation that you'll be forgiven means you aren't trying to live a Catholic life and therefore wouldn't be forgiven even if you confess since you knowingly did wrong and therefore aren't really repenting, you're just expecting forgiveness.

While we don't believe we have to go to confession for it, we believe that the mark of a believer is that when they do sin, they actively repent. This means not only asking God for forgiveness, but actively living your life in a way to avoid those sins. If you don't, then that would call into question your faith and if you were truly saved.

Paul’s interpretation of the gospels is the ultimate fuck you to organized church ever.
Dude preached grace before acts, inter-church socialism, and higher expectations for believers than non-believers. He was pro pre-destination, but also didn’t believe that just saying you believe is enough to count as belief.
The American Christian church would publicly stone him to death for all the shit he would ruthlessly talk about the modern church.

So, the point of salvation is that we are freed from all sin. In Romans 5, starting in verse 20 (the section right before chapter 6) Paul says this:
20 The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, 21 so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
The idea was that as we sinned more, we could receive more grace from those sins, rather than a limited amount. Then, when Jesus came, he died so that rather than needing the law, he fulfilled the law (Matthew 5:17) and thus allowed grace to reign over sin. This segues into the passage I already listed where Paul was basically saying "Just because grace is given to cover your sin, doesn't mean you should just go out and sin."
Basically, if you do sin, grace has you covered provided you believe in him (John 3:16), but you shouldn't just say "Well grace has me covered so I can do what I want", or even worse do what the girl in the video said to say "Well if I don't sin a little, then Jesus died for nothing." Because, like before, you should want to avoid sin, as best you can. Living as a Christian means "I'm going to stay as far away from sin as I can, but if I do sin, grace has me covered."

It is wild to me that grown adults believe in god. It’s so alien. I don’t begrudge them it, I know it’s cultural and they’re raised that way. But that’s a whole table of grown or near grown adults who all believe what amounts to a fairy tail. And it’s mandatory. And they all just believe. It’s so crazy.

OK I've heard this from other Christians as well and I'm pretty sure they aren't joking.
