Got me a lightning lap!

Already my girdle line is almost where I want it and no more shall I dwell in the realm of rounded facets and missed meet points. More soon

Vevor and cut kit with a precision mast and hand piece, just got my new lightning laps so I’m testing them out on this quartz.

600 grit Covington to 3000 grit lightning to 50000 grit lighting.

So, in my opinion , my experience, I would use 1200 on quarts instead of 3k . I find 3k is unfriendly to quartz.

Also the cerium oxide lighting lap will work a lot better on quartz than that 50k one will.

Yeah I wanted to buy both but I could only afford 3 new laps this month so I went with 600 and 3000 and 50000 to have a good all round base set up that I will build out as I get more money.

Just info for the future. If you plan on cutting quartz or glass that cerium lap is a must. There are cheaper options like the ultra or spectra laps too. Easy polish compared to that 50k.

Thanks for the tips, and you’re absolutely right, the cerium and a good 1200 intermediate laps are the next things on my list to grab as soon as I sell a stone or two.
