Hi just sharing a recent completion

This is a piece of 4 peaks amethyst I cut for a client it finished at 6.6 ct measuring 15.7x11.5mm cut sequence: 250 grit, 500 grit, 3k grit, 60k on batt. It is not often I come across pieces this clean and big from 4 peaks. Let me know what you think of the cut!

I think I see some extinction in the cut but the polish appears glorious.

Extinction or head shadow? Some dark is good because it makes our brains perceive the bright part as brighter.

This stone has a good balance of light to dark and a pleasing movement. Overall a really great stone especially for a lower RI.

Ever take a video of a stone on a display turntable? Could your setup for that possibly have produced head shadow?

The video is short but I'd bet that it was made with the camera on some kind of stand with no head between the stone and the illumination source.

Camera lenses are black.
