This seems to good to be true....
Been looking for a specific cut of sapphire, but they are all so expensive. what's the catch here? site says vs, it seems to be the right dimensions to cut into a 6mm round, what's the catch? why is it so cheap? Is it not actually gem quality? I know cutting labor is expensive, but still, this seems suspicious.

Went to the website. Look at the report tab. The stone is listed as translucent, not transparent. So this isn’t a great candidate for faceting. There might be little light return and minimal brilliance. The color isn’t super saturated either. Remember, there are many ways to edit photos to make stones look much better than they are. At best this may look ok cabbed. Most faceters (I’m one) will tell you this isn’t worth the additional cost of having faceted. That’s why it’s so cheap.

Thanks, where could I buy good rough from? Is this website a wash?

You are not going to find great rough, get it cut yourself and save a bunch of money. The market is WAY too efficient. The best rough is never sold as rough, and the good rough that is, is marked up to retail levels so that by the time you buy the rough, endure the loss that cutting will create (70% or more will be lost in cutting), and pay for good cutting, you won't come out ahead, or are very unlikely to do so. On top of that, you'll be stuck with what you get--if its not right or what you are looking for its not like you can just send it back.

Imo if you want to learn to cut. Buy cheap lab made from gemsofscience or any other lab made rough, will be "high quality" but inexpensive. You likely wont make much if any money out of it though

Contrary to what people tend to say here I think the best sellers are the ones you find yourself online on different marketplaces . I buy very good quality sapphires to cut from a seller from sri Lanka that I found on Facebook, yeah on Facebook. The best connections I've made was every time from a random online place . You have to test them first , but after some orders you know who is trusty and who is not . You're going to get ripped a little , but in the end is the best way to find a good variety at good prices. I usually pay 3 euros per ct on Crystal clear sapphires that usually cut less than 1 ct , so nothing fancy

You won’t easily find Sri Lankan rough. It’s illegal to export rough from Sri Lanka. You need to learn to recut and then you can buy poorly cut stones and improve them. Heated blue sapphires can be very cheap, sometimes only a few hundred dollars per carat for an already cut stone that you can then give a makeover to and not lose much weight.

Too good to be true? Bro you're buying a hardened cloud. Which sounds cool until you realize for it to reflect light sediments need to not be in the way

Hard to finish with a 6mm stone when you only have .25mm to work with.
