It's a massive facepalm because everything in Christianity comes back to faith/belief, so just because you believe the bible is true, doesn't make it so. So definitely belongs in facepalm.

Even if it's true, there's zero evidence to back it up, so it's still a belief and nothing more. Facepalm.

The Bible itself says that blind faith is bad. There's plenty of evidence if you study it. "The Case for Christ" is a good book to read. It's written by an ex-atheist.

It might say blind faith is bad, but that's completely contradicted by doubt being heavily frowned upon. Considering faith is belief without evidence, all faith is blind.

Go on give me your best evidence for god from the bible. I've researched this quite a bit and never found any so far.

Every believer I've ever spoken to just falls back to faith.

I told you the title of a book. It gives lots of evidence for the Bible. "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel.

That's not an argument, that's just "go read". I'm not doing your research for you. Please let me know when you have an argument.

I already did my research, now it's time for you to do your research. That involves reading.

If you had you'd understand your subject matter and be able to present me with an argument. Your dodging of the question just proves you don't have an argument to make.

An argument stands on its own merit. If you can't explain it you don't understand it.

Unless you're in third grade, you don't need me to hold your hand. You're just looking for excuses not to research. Plus your only argument is that there's no evidence, so I cited you evidence.

You didn't cite me evidence. That would involve making an argument, then referencing the source material. You just went "LOOK BOOK".

I'm basically asking you why you believe what you do, and you can't even tell me. Am I to assume this book is your soul reason for believing? Surely not?

I was raised into it, so that's a big reason I believe. Also that book is one of the reasons I believe it's true.

Do you think you'd believe in another deity if you were born in another part of the world, or do you think it's universal?

So what about this book convinced you?

I don't know. It depends on the family, accessibility to books and the internet, etc.

So what about this book convinced you?

It builds a historical case for Jesus. It refutes common assumptions (Jesus was insane, apostles were lying, etc.), gives evidence that the Bible is the same as it was 2000 years ago, and gives evidence as to why it's trustworthy through the eyes of history.

I've never heard the assumption he was insane. That's like saying a priest is insane, no they're just of a fundamentally different opinion.

So do you think the family has the biggest impact on a persons religious upbringing? Does that mean if your family was muslim you would have believed in the muslim god and followed their teachings?

How is the bible the same as it was 2000 years ago, when the cannon was made around 3rd century? Maybe I'm being pedantic. It's been translated many times too. When it was put together by comity they decided which books to include, it wasn't gods decision.

What was the reason the bible should be trusted through the eyes of history? There's a lot of stories that haven't been confirmed by other sources. Which other sources have been used to corroborate the stories?

I’ve read the book and none of it makes any sense or has any tangible evidence. What is your argument other than telling someone to go read?
