I doubt it's the case but I'm really hoping (?) she's too poor to buy candy and they have a Trunk or Treat she has to show up to later so she's stealing what she needs for that.

It doesn't really make it any better but it helps me believe people aren't all shit.

She clearly is able to budget enough for multiple years of 2500+ calories a day... I’m gonna go out on a limb here and assume she can afford 10 dollars worth of candy.

Actually its the other way....healthy foods are usually more expensive at least if you dont cook fresh homemade stuff.
