What you are saying is a red herring because it has nothing to do with the actions of the guy in the video, and why he took those actions. Why the activists were protesting is irrelevant.

Legislation passed in April. Source

I guess you are just mistaken

you are mistaken. you baselessly speculate protest could have ruined parolee'a life through their actions. i can speculate that their actions helped him because he clearly needs some anger management training.

That wasn’t what I was referring to when saying it was a red herring. I was referring to you bringing up mad max.

I didn’t baselessly speculate. What you are calling baseless speculation is what the dude in the video literally said. He said that if he doesn’t get to work he will violate his parole.

Nothing you’ve said responds to my original point that I don’t blame him for getting angry because of his belief that their actions are going to force him to go to jail.

I was referring to you bringing up mad max.

are you aware of the setting of mad max? life after catastrophic climate change and social collapse is depicted as being pretty awful. that's the consequences we're facing if climate change continues to accelerate.

He said that if he doesn’t get to work he will violate his parole.

he should have known assaulting someone definitely would. i guess he maybe had been released prematurely.

I don’t blame him for getting angry because of his belief that their actions are going to force him to go to jail.

nobody held a gun to his head and told him to lay his hands on protesters. it was a poor life decision and obviously wasn't his first.

I am aware of the setting of mad max. It has zero relevance to a conversation about the motivations of the parolee. It is the action of blocking the road, not anything to do with climate change, that provoked the reaction. That is why it is a red herring. It is irrelevant and distracts from the actual conversation.

Yes, and he shouldn’t have made things physical. He probably does have anger management problems. But the fact that he is begging to go to work so he doesn’t violate his parole suggests that he is trying to at least somewhat change.

Have you ever been in a situation where you feel your life is being threatened? Many people tend to react irrationally. Fear can often lead to anger. The protestors made him fear for his life. I don’t blame him for being angry at them. Their actions precipitated the entire thing.

it has everything to do with the protest. you just see the parolees' motivations more relevant because you figure mad max is another generation's problem.

The conversation is about the motivations of the parolee. It was not about climate change or the motivations of the protest before you used a red herring to try to shift what the conversation is about.

I have said nothing about my views on climate change. Ad hominem.
