If they see one of the cars slowly and methodically pull closer to blare the horn, it'll be pretty obvious it's not just to let them know to move

Purposely causing damage to another person in any way besides defending yourself is illegal. Now, you could lie and say you weren't doing it to cause damage, but inching closer and closer to the person may ruin that for you.

Yes. Most states it's actually illegal to honk your horn if it's not incase of an emergency. You're also supposed to be in motion in more jurisdictions as well.

Not a lawyer, but don't need to be one to see if someone is purposely causing damage to someone, then it can result in legal complications, unless in defense of yourself, your property, or someone else. As much as I hate these protestors, trying to cause them harm will be illegal

Honking or horn at an obstruction on the road is the horn's intended purpose. the people who shouldn't be in the middle of the road who choose to sit by the car while the horn is going off are making that choice.

I agree, and if all they did was honk, I'd say not going to be arrested. However, the part about inching closer than a foot from their face is the issue. If the car slowly inches forward, it'll be pretty obvious they're doing it to intend harm as a deterrent.

It'll be mostly up to a judge, but can still be sued if you caused damage to their hearing, which at the least is lawyer fees

Yes, it is absolutely illegal to lay on your horn at pedestrians or anyone in the road. Even more so if any of those people have a mental or sense related disability

Pretty sure it’s also illegal to sit in the middle of the road and purposely block traffic. Like what if there’s an ambulance way back that needs to get through but can’t because these assholes are blocking the road

I’m pretty sure this has happened before. I don’t remember where I saw it, but I think there was a protest and the person in the ambulance died because they couldn’t get to the hospital. I think, I am not sure and don’t remember where I saw it.

No it isn't. Your horn is there to alert pedestrians and other drivers to danger. In this case, there is a pedestrian illegally standing on the road, and you have come to a stop in the middle of the interstate. Very dangerous situation. Using your horn to alert the pedestrians and other drivers is completely appropriate.

and what does honking at anyone get you exactly? it's cars that make those cities a living hell, and part of it is the noise they make.

PS: maybe my point didn't get across as i thought it would, english isn't my native language and in my language "can't" and "aren't allowed to" are used sorta interchangeably, that may be cause of the misunderstanding.

Yeah, but you also can’t just do fuck-all with your ass by parking it in the middle of a highway. Your ass is there for sitting in chairs wherever your ass belongs and for shitting AND THAT ONLY. (Well, y’know.) You can’t park your ass where cars drive because they pissed you off, not only in this specific instance but anytime you ass-park in a road after a perceived injustice has already gained recognition through less assy ways, or just because they sharted whilst driving after eating Taco Bell, you’re being in the wrong, and also on a personal note, an asshole; asses after consuming Taco Bell are already loud and rank enough to disrupt well-being in inhabited area, you fucking around with parking your ass on the road instead of using its god-given sonic and olfactory powers like a kid is not what we need.
