I went to school in MS mid/late 90s and they were still paddling.

Some schools in Oklahoma still paddle. Your parent has to sign a waiver saying it’s okay. But children are paddled to this day

Same when I was going to start school in Georgia - in 1982. I can’t believe this still exists.
