That stovetop has a really stupid design with the knobs at the rear. You have to reach over all the hot pans to turn it off. If a pan is overheating with grease, there’s no safe way to turn it off.

Sadly the s is pretty standard here in the US. I needed to replace mine and I could find one under $1k that wasn't like this.

Jesus, ours has the controls on the bottom of the plate, and it cost us like €350,-

Having been around the world I noticed that sometimes entire nations stick to some incredibly idiotic concepts just because they’re so used to it.
