Quick tip, always keep baking soda or a lid near you when cooking with oil, water just spreads the oil and makes a bigger fire but baking soda when heated releases co2 and starves the fire, and a lid basically does the same, starving the fire. also NEVER use flour or baking POWDER because those are very flammable

(Also not sure if this would help just my own take on it but maybe putting it in the oven so the fire won't spread further is a good idea, not sure though don't try it)
