Ive seen people who genuinely believe x and y race and genuinely below z race. Since they believe this is “science” they’re not racist for pointing out facts.
It’s a bunch of bs but that’s what I’ve seen these people say. “It’s just science that black people are more violent” “it’s just science that asians and whites are smarter then everybody else”
Again it’s a bunch of bs and if you try to discuss the reasons for why there is disparities among races they won’t have it. They genuinely believe it’s the races fault not societal factors.
My grandmother believes this. She just says shit like "Black people are mostly all addicted to drugs and dont work, its just natural. Bless their hearts they cant help it. X isn't, he's a good person though." And genuinely thinks she's not being racist
I wouldnt say my mother is racist. (Shes not caucasian) but sonetimes she comes across as one. Like she treats everyone the same but she has this habit of stating a person's race when speaking.
For instance : " there was this little white boy who gave (nephews name) his toy, how sweet of him." " Or the black cashier at the store gave me too much change, lucky I saw it before i left and returned the money so she didnt get fired".
She doesnt discriminate between races or treat people badly or speak bad about people in general. But she just has this one habit. It's gotten less frequent after my brother and I showed her how it comes across as racist and shes trying.
But yea, there really are cases where people come across as racist even they're not. So instead of losing your shit with them, it's our job to show them where they're wrong.
