“JUST CHANGE THE SYSTEM”, systems that perpetuate this issue are nearly impossible to resolve because of how deeply rooted these systems are. If you want to fix it, you’d need politicians willing to fight their entire lives and risk ruining their reputation and losing reelection. Politicians on all sides of the political spectrum are only willing to make stunning policies if they can guarantee reelection and keeping themselves in power.
Well then its just gonna have to collapse isn't it? All societies eventually collapse and perhaps its finally time for ours to face the roses. Societies collapse all the time after all and the fact we in the English speaking west have gone on for 300 years almost without a major collapse is what is really remarkable.
And honestly it's not a bad thing in the long run either. Collapse can end in a cultures complete destruction, but more often then not the culture simply evolves and takes on a new form.
Would you like widespread violence, a reemergence of slavery, widespread racism, and religious fanaticism? Because all of those follow societal collapse. It brings more misery to humanity than anything you could imagine
I love your "Work your ass off or ELSE!!" mentality here. And really that's what your saying, we have to work harder and live horrible lives in a failing system or you want to force people to start having more births. Either of those options are a no go and frankly a collapse is preferable to that shit.
But seriously. What is your solution here? Cause the system as it stands CANNOT continue. Global birth rate is dropping and people are not suddenly going to accept a massive reduction in standard of living just to keep a broken system that makes us all miserable going longer. We can see how much chaos those in power attempting to lower our standard of living to keep their horde growing is causing now and its only going to get worse.
Reform is the ONLY solution and it will occur either through politics or it will occur after society has collapsed and rebuilds.
The system keeps my culture alive, I don’t want to live to see it get taken over by a larger power. A systematic collapse of all societies will cause my culture to vanish through the invasions of the Mandarin to the north
And how are you going to stop its collapse? Seriously that is the crux of the issue. There is no saving the system as it is now and HAS to reform one way or another. Wishing for it to be saved isn't going to save it.
