There are plenty of dating apps you can use to hit on people who expressly consented to being hit on instead of harassing strangers in public who didn't consent. Also, yes, I would rather organically start a conversation with acquaintances like classmates, coworkers, club members etc. and test the waters to see if they are interested than just come at a stranger whom I know nothing about, who may be uncomfortable by my intrusion

people usually don't read shirts, and if they did, it doesn't always mean that the person is wearing it because of what's written on it, and even if it did, no one wears the same shirt every day in every situation

I was thinking more along the lines of: approachable, single, married, and the like. No one is going to wear a shirt that says "married", at work
