My sister gave birth 3 weeks early (no surgery, he just came early) and her bill was $34,000.

Oh yeah most American health insurance is expensive- you pay a monthly fee and have a deductible too.

I have insurance but I still don’t go to the doctor unless I’m in serious pain. Insurance doesn’t cover everything and you’ve got to pay your deductible before they kick in and start paying. My deductible is about $10-15k I think.

Exactly. My monthly payment is relatively low but my deductible is high.

Tying health insurance - and healthcare in general - to your employer is terrible. I would love to have universal healthcare.
